Absolutely stellar experience!
The staff was perfect, professional and spot on. I've dined at places such as Ruth Cris and the staff here at Dangerfields is far superior to those five star grossly over priced places. The atmosphere was beautiful, the decor is tasteful and welcoming, comfortable.
The food, wow! Dangerfields serves a childhood delight, Pope Overs which no restaurant ever offers anymore so nostalgic, warm woth that slight crisp outside tender inside amd a tiny pop of sweetness from the honey butter on the side. The classic salad bar offers a Hugh variety of salads and soups and makes a great meal option for those with smaller appetites. We ordered an appetizer of Pnion Rings and they were huge! Crsip, hot and the freshest onions used. Our entries were also huge portions, the prices are beyond reasonable for the portion sizes and quality, the BBQ ribs were tender and flavorful woth no fat and my baked chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and juicy and green beans were plump, crisp and flavorful. They served water with mint, we didn't have to ask for water which I feel is not only an ultra sofisticated gesture but just plain good manners, manners that restaurants today seem to forget.
We were seated in the room they call the library which is tables in front of a wall of windows over looking a beautiful body of water, so we were able to enjoy wildlife and nature along with our spectacular meal. Dangerfields is the cleanest venue I've visited in so many years, pristine cleanliness. Overall, Dangerfields is the highest quality restaurant in Shakopee, not even Mystic Lake is in the same caliber as Dangerfields. I cannot recommend Dangerfields enough and look forward to having our reception this spring here. The Owner, is also present, personable and genuinely appreciative for his guests patronage. 5 stars all the way.
Thank you for a truly wonderful Wedding luncheon.

Food & service was decent. The view and drinks are always great. However the one thing that was very off-putting was when our waitress picked up my mother’s salmon filet with her bare hands rather than just taking the plate to correct my mother’s order. In all my years of going to restaurants I have never seen anyone do that. Nearly lost my appetite. Please inform your staff about handling food correctly & properly.

Our sever, Vince, was great! Very attentive and friendly. Restaurant had great decorations for Christmas! The river was an amazing view. There was a lot of ducks and swans. The kids enjoyed seeing them!
The buffet was not appetizing. Food was cold, stale and old.

Saw this place had a all-you-can eat salad bar and was excited to try. The price was high, but buffets can be. Sadly, other reviews were right. Salad bar disappointed. Only 3 dressings to choose from, the plates were dirty (one of them had food chunks all over), and some of my classic staples tasted old. Also had a sandwich and well.... I had some concerns about the taste of the tomato and cheese. I promptly removed them to avoid any possible food poisoning. That left me with bland bread, bland turkey and miracle whip. Yep, not mayo... there was only two employees serving tables for lunch time. Polite, but as I type (still here), i've been sitting here for almost 15 min, clearly done with my food and my water has been empty. Again he was very polite, but the lunch crew needs more hands. Sadly, all the positive reviews rave about dinner. I should have come then. 2/5 for lunch.

We went here for what we thought would be a lovely Thanksgiving brunch. Boy, we were wrong! We had a reservation for 1pm. The place was a zoo. The “buffet” I say that loosely, was clear across the restaurant…we had to meander through all of the tables while others were trying to enjoy their meal. The buffet line was 20 minutes of standing in line like cattle. It was utter chaos!! Once we got up to the food half the items were gone. This was not a cheap meal, we paid $150 for 3 adults, which would have been fine if we could have gotten what we expected. The buffet menu and the positive reviews were nothing like we expected. I feel that we got duped! Please consider this review before planning your special occasion here.
My family came for the Thanksgiving buffet a few days ago and it was not a good experience. Walking in the door we were hit with a nauseatingly strong smell of moth balls. I thought we would be fine as long as we were seated anywhere other than the table immediately next to the door. Guess where we were seated? You guessed it. That closest table to the door. That was just the beginning of the list of reasons we will not be back. The ergonomics of the table was all out if whack - the chairs were very tall and the table was extra short, so we had to awkwardly like bend down to our food to eat. While there were some highlights (the stuffing and the room temperature ribs were okay and the breakfast sausage was excellent) the scrambled eggs and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from powdered versions. Eggs were oddly rubbery too. Finding the eggs and mashed potatoes inedible, we all left these largely untouched on our plates. Also, the Dangerfield's salad bar is perennially horrible. Ice cold and low quality options throughout. There was no traditional rolls available for the Thanksgiving buffet, not at the salad bar nor the entree buffet. So, we tried one of the mini croissants, which left us bewildered. How do you screw up a croissant? Never having a bad croissant before in our lives, we were surprised. This one was not buttery nor bready, but slightly sour and otherwise tasteless. Overall, not anything you would have more than one bite out of. Lastly, the desserts had so little sweetness that we had to use the table sugar to make them palatable. All of the five desserts we tried had this problem. What is the point of dessert if it is not sweet? Dangerfield's has such potential: a beautiful building in a great location with phenomenal staff. Why they perpetually go for the lowest quality in their food offerings is both a mystery and a lost opportunity to win return customers.

While some dishes are good others are severely overrated. Their french onion soup was definitely highly disappointing. The salad bar looks reused & stale. Some servers are amazing I'll give them points for trying. But when the decor is grandiose and the food is lacking its still hard to enjoy the view. The owner is so rude to staff but all smiles with regulars. Seems forced and fake. They're either overstaffed for not enough guests at dinner or there's 1 server running the entire dining room alone for lunch.

Weird that dangerfields was able to take over the reviews for the previous business Shakopee House so i am changing this review…. We went once to the outdoor area which could use some work. Food was delicious i had the chicken pita wrap. We went when they recently changed ownership and they were out of a lot of things and waffle fries were advertised with dishes and regular fries came out without notice because they were out. Owner visited tables with older patrons but ignored us. Seems like they would prefer an older clientele.

We selected Dangerfield's for my birthday dinner November 7. We had eaten there many times over the years and now that it is back in the hands of the original owner, we are very happy. While waiting for our meal, we watched pairs of mallards on the MInnesota backwaters and enjoyed a beverage from the autumn-inspired bar-menu. We ordered salmon and a medium-rare sirloin which was perfectly prepared. The first side was a potato that was riced, I would say. The zucchini and onion combo was julienned...and a tasty surprise. Their specialty, the expected popover with cinnamon butter, was as mouth-watering as we remembered. We finished our meal by splitting a delicious Snicker dessert. High recommendations.

0/10 would not recommend.
Walked in for brunch and it was COMPLETELY empty. We had zero idea of pricing because nothing was told to us or shown to us. The buffet was supposed to be manned by someone that worked there to give you food, but most of the time he would disappear. None of the food trays were labeled and they all had different tops on them so it was kind of a guessing/memorization game. The food was very bland and unflavored, and they relied heavily on sauces to give the food any sort of taste. The dessert table was also un labeled so it was a complete guessing game on what you were eating. All of it was prepackaged food just laid out for you and the bread items were very stale.

We enjoyed your food. We have been there for quite a few lunches. I do not plan on coming back until you do something about the smell in you restaurant. I do not know if it is your cleaning solution. But it is horrible. It took away from enjoying the food. Put some deodorizer’s to get a good smell in the room. Please do something about this or I won’t be back.

They market themselves as a Mediterranean restaurant but are lacking Mediterranean options. The food and service was just OK but the biggest complaint is that the place reeked of moth balls when we went. It’s like they just treated the place and continued to be open for business. Today my stomach is in knots and I can’t help but correlate the two.
