My mom (4-5 years) and aunt (7+years) worked at original downtown HOP... it was so fun to visit the new location. I still remember the upstairs of the original as a kid (scary stairs š). Such fun memories... the cheese garlic bread was so good, I didn't even get a photo of it. The pizza costs more, but it is š. So glad to hear it is still in the family!

I called a day in advance to make a reservation for my husbands birthday with family. It was a group of 10 at prime dinner time, so I wanted to be courteous and give notice (I am a server and I know how much that is typically appreciated). When I called, I was asked what side I preferred to be on. I was so thankful that question was asked because my husband loves the bar side and we wanted a high top table, with all of the TVās. Itās just the kind of atmosphere we wanted, as opposed to the other side. Iām assuming the workers know this, otherwise why ask? They took down my name and number and confirmed the time and location of our table. When we game in with our group, both hostesses had no idea what we were talking about when we said we had a reservation. They said they had no openings for us on the side we reserved, but could put us in āa cornerā on the other side. I said very politely that I was confused because thatās not what we were told over the phone. The hosts then went and got a manager (Katie?) and she told me that there was āno record that you calledā. I even confirmed the phone number that I called to make sure I had the location correct. Katie was extremely rude to our entire group. We sat at the table we were assigned to, and never once were asked if we wanted refills on our drinks, so we had to walk to the other side of the restaurant to order our drinks at the bar. I normally would not make a big deal about this, but at the restaurant I work at, when itās clear YOU, the business made an error (big or small), you make it right. We will likely not return and I recommend management looks into the communication of this place. Donāt ask guests where they prefer to sit and then CONFIRM thatās where theyāll be, and then make them feel 2 inches tall when they come in for their table.

The experience tonight at House of Pizza was very disappointing. When we didnāt get pepperoni on our pizza, the server told us that it did. We had to lift up the cheese to show her. She said she could go get a bowl of pepperonis. That didnāt seem like a solution since the pepperonis wouldnāt be cooked into the pizza. She said I will comp it for you. When we got the bill, she had only taken 10% off that 1 pizza. The whole place was freezing cold. We all kept our winter coats on. The veggie pizza was just a ton of olives on a pizza. I donāt think I saw a single mushroom or green pepper. The meat sauce on my kidās pasta was not good, so they didnāt really eat. I wish this location had stayed an Old Chicago. The food and service were really disappointing. I do not recommend this place at all.
