My friend took me here, and the experience was uncomfortable to say the least. They seemed extremely understaffed, and I felt bad for our kind server. I was thankful that they had just cleaned the buffet stations before I took my food, because it was a cross-contamination nightmare. I had to take preemptive Benadryl just in case. At least the staff was fabulous about cleaning the grill for me.

The flow of the line was very strange. In general everything seems so chaotic and overly busy. Also, the food wasn't authentic Mongolian at all. It seemed more Taiwanese-American than anything.

And don't get me started about that weird stereotypical logo of theirs. While I completely understand why they would rebrand from "Mongo’s", I'm not sure that a weird Fu Manchu like character was the best choice for branding.

They tried, but I'm not sure that I would go back again.

Dietary restrictions: Too much cross-contamination for people with allergies.

Yuck. This place is nasty. The noodles over cooked. We barely ate a quarter of our food and left it. We knew we would not eat it at home and nobody else was going to touch it. I will never go here again.

Fantastic experience! Meat and vegetables were fresh. Love the recipe cards for creating sauces. The server was friendly and efficient. Price was good for all you could eat set up. Like the HuHot rewards club discount. Will definitely be a regular stop when we are in St Cloud!

Parking: There is plenty of free parking close to the restaurant.

The food tasted like reheated over microwaved meat. I quietly told the server who was very apologetic and let the manager know. The manager (in a green shirt 10/25) didn't even come over to talk to us and would only allow a 10% discount on a meal I didn't eat.
I saw the same manager getting frusterated/acting rude to the grill staff as well.

Not as many selections as MONGOS had. Rice selections and eggs are not done anymore. The take out bowls are larger, so everything fits better.
Nice of you to respond, but you did not address the fewer selections of veggies, seafood, and other items. Also, we have eaten a single bowl in the restaurant and were told NO to take out containers. You also do not get the choice of different types of rice at all, white rice only, and they will not add it to your dish. It is on the side only. Are these problems a lunch versus dinner difference? If it is, why is it not published? Or people notified of this change. I have not seen any difference at the Huhots I have been to. Lunch or dinner is the same items.

Since it has changed to huhot I have tried it twice. Both times I was disappointed.

Basically flavorless because the cook burns all the sauce you add to the dish and doesn't mix it with the ingredients. Huhot does not deserve all the reviews of Mongo's. No dragon ranch. No eggs. No brown rice. No seasonings. This place is basically 1/5th of what Mongo's was

I thought about an awful lot about coming here tonight, and I’m glad we did. Same great place, it’s just a little bit different now. We used to frequent mongos, and was sad to see them go, but it still lives on thru HuHot. Check it out! The sauces are a little different, but there are some familiar flavors. They are trying to preserve some of the legacy from mongos, which I thought was cool, but they do have a national franchise to maintain, so they won’t be able to keep everything. Very pleased with the staff and the manager on duty has a great personality. Thank you, we will be back.

I had been an avid Mongos customer for 4 years since I moved here for university. I would bring friends and family along and everyone loved it, because of the great food, energetic cooks, and overall happy atmosphere.

Fast forward to their HuHot buyout: Friday evening me and two others had to ask another waiter to refill our drinks as our waiter hadn't even come to our table again for about 15 minutes, and when he did come by he didn't say anything or apologize. Never even asked how the food was. That NEVER happened at Mongos.

The cooks...oh, man, I miss the cooks. The new ones act like they're held at gunpoint to do their job. No energy, when you ring the gong they don't even say thank you every time, and lazily cooking. One of them casually slid the bowl and plate onto the grill and left it there and didn't even realize it until after a short while.

I'm not sure if it's a problem of policy, lack of training, not having a definite manager, etc. But I believe they opened much too early and didn't keep any of the old staff around that I could tell, and then they keep the reviews from Mongos as if that would bring more people in.

I hope things improve. I don't want this to be what became of my favorite restaurant.

What happened to this place?
Over half of the sauces are gone. What are left are so watered down. There are no dry spices. WTH happened?
