I was in a rush to a 1:30pm meeting. I called ahead they had my burger ready within 10min of me calling. The host greeted me right away and had my smash burger ready to go. Nice atmosphere and delicious food! The walleye was cooked perfectly, tender and flaky and had great flavor. The homemade tartar sauce was so good. We also had the ancho maple barbecue wings which were delicious! The service was also wonderful.

Stopped in since close to hotel after long day in the car. Service was super slow to get ordered though food did come out in a decent amount of time. They claim the steaks are aged 28 days, but man if this wasn’t the worst steak I’ve had in my life. For $39 I got a steak that only had grill marks on it with no Maillard on the crust, or the fat. Was cooked to a solid medium instead of the medium rare I ordered. Was grossly underseasoned and no pepper - leading me to have to salt and pepper at the table. At a Denny’s, totally understandable. A place that attempts to create the ambiance of a steak restaurant with near fine dining prices for the location - what a disappointment. Only two stars because my kid ate her pizza and my wife didn’t mind her burger. If you want slightly elevated bar food, this place it fine, but you’re paying for the convenience of being close to your hotel bed. For the first time in my adult life I didn’t finish my steak. Also, broccoli was overcooked, underseasoned and the sweet potato mash was also underseasoned and lacked any originality. Mash had good ratio of fat and cream in it though. What a bummer.
Update: tried to grab a mint out of the bowl on my way out to make up for the steak. It was melted inside the wrapper. Bummer continued.

We are frequently customers of RJ’s; although we live two hours away we frequent this restaurant whenever we visit the Twin Cities. On this trip we were disappointed to find they were “temporarily closed on Saturday and Sunday”. We have had other occasions where we were surprised to find them closed, but that was during COVID, when everyone was experiencing staffing issues.
We will continue to include a RJ’s stop as part of our visits the Minneapolis/ St. Paul; the food, service and atmosphere is above average. Just be cautioned that the availability to these services may be hit and miss. Lesson learned, check in advance.

What a gem. Clean, comfy, inviting bar and restaurant. Great music playing. Nice spot for a stop when you are out on the road. Cozy but big enough for a group. Great food. Don’t let the location fool you. It is worth the trouble to seek it out.
