I honestly don't know how they have 4.5 stars. When we entered it looked like a great little bar. We sat at a booth, our server brought the menu and our drinks promptly. Being in a German bar we were disappointed in the lack of German food offered, most especially a basic Reuben sandwich. None of the entrees came with anything, not even chips. A plain cheeseburger, a German burger on a tiny plate. 1/2 pound order of fries was addtl $5, and as God witness, it was NOT 1/2 pound of fries! I mentioned it and she said yep that's half a pound. I get more fries from a large order at McDonald's! I ordered the battered cod meal, gross. It came with a tiny serving of nasty coleslaw, mediocre toast, yes toast, and 4 pieces of fish that looked and tasted like they came out of a Great Value box. Definitely not homemade. For this delicious feast or total came to $55! To add insult to injury, our server walked past us no less than 6 times and never once asked how it was, and we had to flag her down to get the bill. Will not be back, and do not recommend.

Going to meisters isn't just about getting a Meister Burger but rather the ambiance, vibe and the history behind it. There's something to be said about a neighborhood spot that's been around for that many years and is still open and still consistently busy. Love this place!

Love this small town place. Love hearing the family history, too. Haven't ordered much for odd, but I sure love me some Heffie German Beer.
I see good reviews on their burgers and beer but nothing about their grilled chicken breast sandwich. It was pressed chicken and had the texture of rubber when you chewed it. I was so hungry that I ate part of it but couldn’t finish it. My husband had the burger with the sauerkraut and loved it. I won’t ever order the chicken again.

I mean the atmosphere and ambience of this place is why you come! God I love a bar/restaurant with carpet on the walls and potentially on the ceiling.This is a German bar serving American food but mannnnn their burger with kraut slapped. They also have Hefeweißen on tap which is sort of unheard of at bars in Minnesota. Staff was so friendly too! This is a place to stop in for a beer or 2 or 3 and stay for some yummy apps.Loved it and will be back again!

Best food on the south hill! Meister burger is always amazing, mini corn dogs and popcorn shrimp are also a favorite! Alla is always so friendly, 10/10 recommend if you’re ever in Stillwater!
Amazing experience. That waiter was on point!! We had a large care of about 10 folks, she kept us topped off, and the food was great!
