We are frequent customers of Nelson’s storefront in St Paul (Highland Park) and we decided to have them cater dessert at our wedding. It was a big hit with our guests! We had two scoopers who kept the line for ice cream moving quickly. While we wanted to include waffle cones after we signed our contract and paid for them after the fact, they did not make it to the venue. Our contact Abby made it right and refunded that portion as well as some extra for the inconvenience. We will be back when they open back up in the summer!

The serving sizes are enormous! The selection is outstanding. The lines are long. I wish I would have known It is cash only before we went. We just weren't able to get all we wanted, but loved it!

Always a fun memory to be made at Nelson's! I grew up stopped at Nelson's for their generous mountain of ice cream. Now I'm glad to continue bringing my children here for a special treat! So fun to put the phones away and enjoy an ice cream together out on the patio.

Large variety with a couple vegan options!! A single size is large enough for 2! I walked a total of 1.6 miles for this ice cream! Worth it!

Great ice cream! But please get bigger cups. Portion sizes are HUGE and they pile all the ice cream in a dinky little cup. Very messy when it melts all over the place. A great experience quickly turns into a frustrating experience, especially on a hot summer day.

Similar experience to other posters - expect a long line but worth it to experience a local iconic place. Per the suggestions of others, the kid size is definitely still a giant sized cone/dish of ice cream. Very friendly staff.
Nelson's catered my husband and my wedding in late Aug. We wanted a fun dessert option that would cool everyone down with the heat. They were willing to travel and the server was very personable and totally fit the vibe of our day. Tons of flavor options to choose from including non-dairy options. All of our guests commented on the quality of ice cream and the server! We were also able to take home all of the extra ice cream which they divided into smaller tubs for us.

Reading reviews it's amazing how many bad reviews for getting too much ice-cream, I don't understand that. YES definitely the servings are huge...but over the years we've learned to bring containers to put ice-cream in and we love having leftovers.
