They have a plethora of choices and the staff was very friendly and kind. They allowed for several samples. Just be aware that the child size is no joke and can easily be split between two very hungry people or a few people looking for ice cream. Seating is outaide

My girl and I went here and both ordered the child size but they made hers with noticeably more scoops. Not very fair. Took an hour also even though the line was just a few ppl out the door.

Nelson's Ice Cream is the best ice cream shop in the Twin Cities, and probably the best Ice cream shop that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I am a huge ice cream lover, and I was blown away by how many different flavors of ice cream that are available from Nelson's. Dozens of great unique flavors to choose from. You can purchase ice cream to eat right then and there in cones, waffle cones, or a cup, and they also sell it by the pint to bring home. Blueberry cheesecake is my personal favorite.

Even when I get a half child’s portion it’s still so much! Great neighborhood spot

Food: Great but not the absolute best, it's good quality but the quantity is why people go. Service: Good, it's a bit loud when it's busy which makes ordering a pain and the menu is often a bit mismatched but the people do their jobs well. Ambiance: Small little cramped place but your in and out of it relatively fast so its fine, the wall of license plates are a nice touch and the picnic benches outside are great but definitely need to be expanded with how popular they are.

If you want great ice cream (more than any human should consume in one sitting), then head off to Nelson's! They are simply the best and a must stop during the summer!

Great ice cream with huge servings. I have celiac disease so I appreciate that they have their ice creams labeled for gluten free options. Not a fan of the store layout. I'm extremely claustrophobic and I felt like I was locked in a cattle shute inside a small closet. But in the end, the ice cream was worth it.

Ok so the proportions are gigantic! Even a “child’s” would probably be a double or triple at any other joint. So with that in mind it was definitely quantity over quality. They seem to sell more then one brand. I saw kemps and cedar crest in the coolers. We had four different flavors. Enjoyed the 100 anniversary special the best. Cash only

Amazing ice cream!!! For an amazing price! Not to mention the phenomenal customer service! We drove all the way up from Kansas and this was one of the number one things we wanted to do on our bucket list. I very much recommend getting the lumberjack! Best bang for your buck for sure! So much ice cream!!!
