Stopped in for off sale. Stayed for a drink. Bartender was not very friendly or personable at all. We had one drink & left. Five other people in the bar. Perhaps it was because we weren't locals. Either way, not a great way to make tips.

While it took a long time to order and get our food (a large party was before us, so mostly to be expected), the food was worth the wait. I did get more bug bites in the restaurant than I did in the time I spent outside of the restaurant that morning..
There were TVs and a couple had kids shows which was nice for the families.

My boyfriend is the cook, so of course the food is excellent! The bartenders are sweet so that's a plus. In the summer they also have a ice cream shoppe! Can't wait to get a banana split!!

Two of us ordered the chicken soup recently. It was very salty. We did not add salt. My friend told the wait person that it was inedible and she took the bowls away. My friend’s son had a burger which he said was very good. When we got ready to leave we were handed the check with the $7.50 a bowl soup still on it. I tried to find someone to dispute the bill but they hid from me. It gets better. Below you can see what was written on the back of the ticket. I have really never been treated so rudely in a restaurant before. The soup was just too salty to be healthy for us not a personal affront to anyone. The management is lying about our adding salt. We are close to 80 years old and do not add salt to anything. The idea that they had cameras on us is preposterous. It is not such a swanky place that they would have cameras on us in their back room. I am appalled that they would stoop to calling us liars but more to the point the customer is always right. Giving us our money back would have been a goodwill gesture and perhaps we might have gone back there instead of telling every one I know not to go to a place that would not honor our accessment of the soup.
If you ever wanted ice cream with your liquor, this is the place for you. Mildly happening on a Sunday Vikings nooner, this place is as good as a Vikings fumble in the end zone.

I highly recommend the Friday Fried Fish &/or Shrimp Basket. The tap beer selection wasn’t that tempting. Eg. They still had the Leinie Summer Shandy when it’s definitely time for Octoberfest. No dark beers. However, they have a variety of bottled beers and canned cocktails on offer. For dessert, just stop by two doors down for some ice cream. Midwestern small town goodness.

I was there with family and friends. One of my friends cannot have gluten. She asked about the Bloody Mary mix because some mixes have gluten in it. The bartender was extremely rude when my friend asked about the mix and wouldn’t come back to the table. We left and went down the street. Much better bar. Thumbs down to Benchwarmers.
