We had a great experience at Skal. We sat at the bar and the owner served us - attentive and friendly. The burger was a tiny bit dry but the brisket sandwich was very, very good. Fries were fresh and hot. We'll be back.

They're a good place, I really like their sweet chili sauce and the cheese curds. Everything else is really good too, plus I still enjoy when I'm not pregnant so ya know it's good lol.Kid-friendliness: They we're really nice to my kid and really patient with us when the baby started getting fussy towards the end of dinner.

Skal recently refreshed their menu and it was so tempting that we didn't make it past the "Light Delights" and "Crunchy Stuff." This secret spot is our go to whenever we cross paths with the Perham and Detroit Lakes area. Per usual, they had a fantastic selection on tap. The atmosphere is casual and the air conditioning is crisp and cool. Now about these new menu items... one thing to keep in mind about Skal standards is that they make everything in house. The cucumber topping, the marinated mozzarella, the mushroom Tartine, and the tomato dill relish are all made on location with love. That means the cucumbers are zesty, the mozzarella is unforgettable, the mushrooms are an umami festival and the tomato relish is a surprise party of flavor!! None of these are your ordinary "stuff on toast" small plates. Again, after tasting all of these, we didn't have room for entrées. So naturally, we went to the crunchy stuff menu and ordered the Minnesota Nachos. They make the potato chips in house daily. It would be easy for them to just buy potato chips, but no, that is not good enough for their patrons. Then, after they make these wonderful potato chips, they pile them up with cheese and goodness and offer them with a side of garlic dill dip (which will want to take a pint of it home with you and the good news is that you can because that is also on the menu.) If flavors and great beer aren't reason enough, come for the great service! The owners and staff here are so great and friendly and tentative to the needs of everyone who stop by. A couple of tips for an amazing visit... Do call ahead to make sure they are open and do come early because they get packed (and you don't want them to run out of those awesome potato chips before you get there.)

Usually have to patronize them when in the area. Was dissapointed in their lack of options this visit. We've had great experiences before and will probably try them again.Parking: They were super busy and the lot was full.

Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Great options for fries/sides and other types of meal choices. A pretty simple menu (and I mean that in a good way!) but a great variety! Got the Cajun chicken and it was delicious! Enough for 2 meals for me.

Ordered the brisket sandwich. Huge bun, but brisket was hard to tell it was brisket and the portion size of meat was about the size of 1 piece of bacon. My wife ordered a Philly cheese steak that was the same price but was loaded with ingredients and delicious.

What a disappointment! We have eaten here many times, but it has gone down hill. I now understand why Billy's is always busy and Skal is not. It was expensive and not good. I had the special, which consisted of angel hair pasta, muscles, and shrimp. There were three shrimp, and the medium heat in regard to spiciness was much more then medium. I have no idea why a hot sauce was necessary with this dish. It would have been much better with citrus and olive oil. Clearly, the folks who are running this have no idea. Go to Billy's, and avoid Skal.

Wonderful as always. My favorite restaurant. We had chicken Alfredo which was AMAZING. I had chili cheese fry burger, which was very good. Perfect flavors combined. Staff was great
