We waited 1 hour and 32 minutes just for our drinks. The food was mediocre. We eventually left after waiting over 30 minutes for another serving of lobster. It's certainly wasn't all you can eat since it was difficult to even get another serving. Our waitress was great and even she was over how horrible the service was. She would put in an order, and it just seemed to never come. It was a waste of money and we won't be back.

Food was OK, but over priced for what you get and the server was not so good. She never stopped back after food was delivered, we had to serve our own water, when we were ready for the check, I had to flag down the server who then just took my credit card but never showed me the bill. Atmosphere was great, service would make it so much better.

Service was slow inside on a beautiful summer evening. Indoor dining room was virtually empty, and outdoor deck only had a few people. Clearly, they were short staffed.
Food took forever to show up at our table. It was acceptable, but we've had better at Vandy's before.
The real rub? We didn't order alcohol or soda pop with our meals- just water. They charged us for the WATER, a dollar a glass. Mind you, this was tap water with ice. To us, that is the epitome of being cheap, from a restaurant that isn't inexpensive to begin with. Vandy's, you lost us with that one.
We won't be going back. We will, however, share this story with our friends in the Waconia area whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Vandy's continues to be up and down. We've dined here many times over the years and when it's good, it's great, and when it's bad it's terrible. This timw it was the latter. It wasn't busy when we came in, but all of the empty tables were dirty. Service started off fine, we ordered alfredo pasta and steak chop salad. The pasta was fine, my significant other likes pretty much everything, but the salad was disappointing-incredibly small for $19.50 and the portion size was ridiculous. It was served in a bowl, and the amount of lettuce was so small, it was the same size as the dinner salads I saw being served. The lettuce and other ingredients were not chopped despite the name. The steak was served on the side in a ramekin with limp bacon pieces drowning in bacon fat. There was also cold bacon on the salad which made the warm steak/bacon on the side strange...the steak was tough and lacked any flavor. I've had this salad before and it was significantly smaller and presented differently this time. I was still hungry after finishing it if that is any indication of how small it was.
In terms of service, it was lacking. The server did not offer waters, and she didn't check back often. She asked if we needed anything else when we got our food, but didn't check in through the rest of the meal to see how it tasted, or offer more drinks. My partners drink was empty and had to ask for another when she finally came by to pick up empty dishes. My drink was nearly empty but she didnt ask if I wanted another one. The very basics of service were not there. I would totally understand lapses in service if she was busy, but we did not see her at any other tables, and we had to ask for things vs her offering, for example-appetizers, dessert, more drinks etc. There were other servers standing around congregating at the bar chatting together, but they also weren't keeping an eye on the dining room to assist tables. Overall, I felt the experience was super disappointing, lacking quality all around and very over priced. We won't be coming back for a while. There are other restaurants in the area offering similar menu items with better food quality and prices, and more attentive personable servers.

Made reservations for Mother's Day, never mentioned it was buffet only. Which was still ok, if the food was actually good, which it wasn't.Flavorless food, cheesy hasbrowns still raw, & fruit was bitter. The only reason I'm giving a rating of one star is because at least the ham was decent.It was obvious they were short staffed, the waitress was nice & that's the two stars. The hostess was nowhere to be found for some time. No sign that tells you to seat yourself or to wait. It was not packed, yet they couldn't keep up with getting food into the bins.Tables/chairs are too close together. Other than the place was clean & the view through the windows was nice. Our party of 6 will NOT be going back.It was $37 per person for that buffet. And for how awful the food was, that literally was a waste of money, time, energy, & appetites. We can overlook everything else, except that. What an awful food experience.

Disappointing. 3 burned or dry hamburgers. And 2 dry chicken dishes. Server never checked in about the meals. Didn't bring enough silverware and needed to ask twice for ketchup which wad missing from 3 meals. Not likely to return nor recommend .
I’ve been to Vandy’s several times over the years and food wise it’s always been bad. On this recent visit I ordered biscuit and gravy. The biscuits were the size of half dollars and about 1” thick but cut in half. The gravy was “ok”. Now I’m from the south, I’ve had biscuits and gravy all my life. These were the worst biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had in my entire life.On a positive note, the service was great!
