Oh, I am so happy to see Omar's Kitchen is still open. It's been a few years since I have been in Minnesota. I live in Canada and am awaiting a better time to travel. The sunday Brunch at Omar's is wonderful. If you are making a weekend of it; try Area 57 Diner in nearby Wanamingo for saturday lunch before heading to Omar's for sunday brunch and that's a pretty darned good double whammy. Somehwere in there add a dinner at the Mill street tavern in Cannon Falls and you'll come back again.

Waitress calls my family friend to tell her me and my husband are abusing our son because we told him he needed to eat some eggs before he can have french toast. Told her to call social services. Ruined our family breakfast....great food. Waitress is rude. Completely uncalled for.

We went through Omar's cafe to cater our wedding and experienced lots of frustration with the communication leading up to the event. The prices were anything but transparent and the wife of the owner would answer our emails but not address our questions 90% of the time. The majority of the stress we had from planning our wedding was due to their lack of communication skills. We were also told that we would get to keep all the food we paid for but when they packed up, they took it ALL with them. Pretty tacky. The ONLY saving grace was that several guests complimented the food and service, itself. However, I would not recommend this place to any friends. I would also like to mention that when we went to the cafe to taste the menu and speak with the owner, every other word out of his mouth was a curse word. This review is coming from someone whose family is from Boston and I STILL thought it was fowl. Very unprofessional. Also unprofessional, the wife would go on Facebook to vent about their patrons. I only know this because she friend requested me during the planning. I made the decision to delete her after the event.

TOP QUALITY HOMESTYLE COOKING! I would highly recommend this small town cafe to anyone! You cant get this good of cooking anywhere else! The owners Omar and Lori are the most down to earth restaurant Owners you will meet! I'm surprised that the Food Network Channel hasn't already made them Famous! They also do amazing catering!
