We have been here many times and it is a true hidden gem of Woodbury. All of the specialty tacos, including the quesabirria, are delicious and full of flavor. Even side elements that other restaurants skimp on, like the rice and beans, are flavorful and expertly made at Machete. The staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming, and prices are very affordable for the excellent quality of the food.

Won’t be returning. Restaurant refused to remake cold soggy nachos that they also forgot to add guac on. Auto is very unprofessional and I would never return simply because of how he handles issues with the kitchens mistakes. I could tell he’s also a terrible manager just off his approach he has terrible customer service. I didn’t want a refund, I wanted to enjoy my food. Little does he know I know Spanish. Ive came here many times before and food was great, but something about today was off and apparently there is someone new in the kitchen training, but they can’t remake food they mess up? Very suburban blanco Mexican place anyways save your time if you’re looking for this place to treat you like family when you come in and they mess up your food!

The food was okay. We ordered the machete. Which is about a foot long. We chose the three meat option and substituted one of the meats for veggies. When we opened it there was 4 shrimp on 3 inches of it, steak on another portion and veggies on the whole thing. When asked the waitress, about it she said it’s done that way in three sections with your three choices. If that were the case the veggies would have been in their own portion of the item. On the menu, it does not say this. It was dry. Ordered a side of cilantro, which was mostly all stems. The salsas were pretty much tasteless, tasted like warm watered down tomato. The queso Blanco was pretty bland for the price of nine dollars.

When we arrived on a Sunday and there were less than 10 people there, I was concerned. The food was not even mediocre, the plastic cups made any drink taste like dish soap, and the atmosphere was boring. Save your money. The food was not worth a photo.
