I'm not a fan and will not be returning. Save yourself the misery if you're from out of town.
The food was disgusting, it tastes like it's been sitting for a week and I can take the low quality Campbell's ingredients used.

Some of the worst food I've ever had.

The service was slow and dismissive.
The food was to expensive for the "quality"
Took 10min to get 2 beers.
Only took 1 bite of my "shrimp scampi on fettuccine"
AND SPIT IT OUT DIRECTLY!
the shrimp was bad and smelly.
The noodles were over cooked.
And no sauce.

The loaded bacon fries left MUCH to be desired. Just a handful of generic shredded cheese. Microwaved to the plate and the most un ranch tasting "ranch dressing" I've ever had. ...it was sweet.

My husband's meal : ...the filet option... Ordered med. Rare... Came home to the dog.

And lastly I'll say, "if YOU are going to put the dressing on my salad, I could always ask for more, but...can I get less"?

I could write a short book on how bad the food and service was at Hughes bar X in Albany, MO. I ate there for the first time a couple weeks ago because I am temporarily living in this town. As desperate as it is for restaurants (which you can count on one hand in town), I will never go back! I live less than 2 miles from it. I have eaten out way too often (usually more than once a week) no matter where I have lived throughout my life. This was the worst overcooked food and there is no MINUS sign for less than 5 stars for the bad service. The 4 people at a table across from mine would make occasional comments to me and we all almost chuckled at every detail throughout the meal of how bad everything is from food to service. Being a town of less than 2,000 people I'm guessing the good reviews were by relatives or people who know owner/staff so they don't want to give them a bad review. People lie like that on reviews if you don't know that by now.

This more of a 3.5 star review, but I'll round up. We'd gone for years to her spot in Denver until it burnt down. We'd drive from 2.5hrs away a few times a year to dine and enjoy the atmosphere. We always had great meals and enjoyed our time. The last two times were in the current local in Albany. Yes, I'll admit I miss the old building and moose hanging out over my table... lol. So the atmosphere is different, but not necessarily bad. What got me was the food quality and staff attentiveness. Both times the food wasn't good. I had cold food (potatoes in the center) so it wasn't warmed thoroughly. It took them an inordinate amount of time to serve us, and they couldn't make a mixed drink so save their souls. Granted, they said the regular bartender was gone, so I can't expect much there.Steak was overcooked, potatoes cold, and the service slow. They were really nice ladies and I enjoyed talking with them, but they didn't appear to have their heads in the game. The dessert was top shelf, so that helped.I'm not sure I'd drive 5hrs round trip to come back. After the first time at the new location, we just chocked it up to having a bad night. Everybody does. But two in a row wasn't good for their reputation. It seemed like there was more buzz about burrito night the following week than focus on the customers in the place to begin with.I hope they get things straightened out. The days of the chocolate fountain may be gone forever...

A great steak at a reasonable price served by friendly servers. Gigantic portions of everything, from the salad to the meat to desert. Classy place that won’t break the bank.

A great, well-seasoned steak, served by friendly people, at a very reasonable price. Huge portions - come hungry, or expect to take some home in a box. Old-fashioned "supper club" kind of a place, where many patrons are regulars. My biggest disappointment was that I didn't save room for the wonderful-looking deserts.
