They make you place your own food order, then you have to scan your receipt to get your soda. Youre only allowed 1 free refill. Then they call your name when food is ready and you have to pick it up. Then after you're done you have to throw away all your stuff, yet they want you to tip with you already paid amd worked just to eat there.

Walking into this Steak ’n Shake felt like stepping into a post-apocalyptic diner where hope comes to die. No music, no staff, no life. Just the faint hum of fluorescent lights and the soft, eerie whisper of “please seat yourself” echoing through an empty void.
I waited 15 minutes for a server to appear. Spoiler: they didn’t. I think the staff is part of a government experiment to see how long a human can be physically present without making eye contact or acknowledging your existence. Impressive, honestly.
The ketchup was the most flavorful part of my meal. The fries came out colder than my ex’s heart, and the burger tasted like it was legally obligated to disappoint.
If you’re into soul-crushing environments and pretending you’re the last person on Earth, this is your spot. Otherwise, run. And take the ghost of better Steak ’n Shakes with you.

This is the slowest restaurant I have been to. Everytime I go to pick up a DoorDash I have to wait 15 plus minutes. I understand if they’re busy but usually not the case. They have employees standing around while one person runs around. The manager was on her phone when I walked to the counter she looked at me then went back to her phone and then walked away. Usually I don’t leave a review but that kinda upset me. I did not get her name but she had half reddish hair half black hair. I use to love coming here to eat and stuff but after seeing this many times while dashing I choose a different location. But the female Cierra was running around helping everyone and seemed to be doing everything. She deserves a raise!!!
