Food ok...we went for dinner..Brussel Sprout & Butternut Squash sounded good but I'm pretty sure they used FROZEN sprouts! Tomato Soup was more like a bowl of tomato sauce..hubby liked his Pork Cutlet...dining partners liked their off the menu Salmon Fillets. Dinner menu small..I would think this place would have interesting creative dinner options. Maybe breakfast better? Cute place though. Waitstaff a bit overwhelmed.
My husband and I had passed by here many times on our way to the Katy but it was never open. Well my daughter and I stopped in after our ride to give it a try. It is located in an historic Augusta building along with an art gallery on one side. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of hashbrowns. Now it is probably just a matter of personal preference but there was way too much pepper in the gravy for me and the hashbrowns weren't very good..very thin and no taste....
Chef Michael Brewer has made a few changes to the menu. My absolute favorite is the brussel sprout and butternut squash hash! My friends and I shared dishes and loved the grill cheese, quiche, and turkey club. We look forward to more additions to the menu soon. Did I hear there may be lobster rolls in our future? Chef Micheal thank you for making White House Café a hidden treasure on our small town adventure today.
