BEST WINERY IN THE AREA!!! If you can read English there are signs posted before entering that clearly say no outside beverages or liquids of any kind lol. Pretty obvious you wouldn’t take your own drinks into a restaurant or other eatery. This isn’t a major franchise, this is a locally owned small business. Support your local businesses!!!! $1 water isn’t expensive 🙄 . The owners work hard to keep their customers happy, that being said. A lot of the complaints I’m reading on here are common sense. This is a winery, not a playground.
Some of the best firestone pizzas made in the area, per Arch Eats podcast, they are in the top 5.
Wine SLUSHIES!! Lots of merch options too, for men and women. Live music. With a number of events hosted on weekends posted on their website. If you have any wondering thoughts if you should try this place out. Do it and find out for yourself. The drive back through the winding road, opening up to a tucked back away winery, hearing the music playing through the brisk fall air surrounded by the woods of color changing leaves falling….is all you need for a relaxing weekend full of laughs and a new hangout spot for you, your family or friends. Persimmon Ridge Winery, you won’t forget it.
Visited today for the first time and we will definitely be going back! You make fantastic dry reds, but oh man is your Norton one of the absolute best I have tried. it's flavor rich AND smooth! Also, the owners are very personable and pleasant to converse with.
My family and I have only been to this winery twice, once two years ago Labor Day weekend and then the second time was a couple of weekends ago. We will not be back. The guy who owns the winery is a dick needless to say.
The first time, we were there for maybe an hour if even that, and the owner decided to tell us he was closing up so he could go out to the lake fine and was pretty pushy about getting everyone out. That maybe should’ve been something to tell your customers when they got there instead of right when everyone is enjoying themselves, or just closed if you had plans.
Second time we had brought in tumblers of water because it was hot out, and my sister in law is also pregnant. The owner was immediately on us about not being able to have those even after explaining that they’re just water, ESPECIALLY my sister in law’s considering she’s pregnant. My sister in law asked if she could just dump out her tumbler of water and fill it with water we had to buy from them and he just ignored her and walked away. He didn’t get onto us or any other customer about bringing wine tumblers though. Makes no sense, definitely should not have a winery if you have terrible customer service.
First time here. Owners Bill and Angela were very nice. We went to listen to a friend perform. It was a perfect setting, is super charming and relaxing. The wine was tasty and the pizza is very good. The music by Dave Price was fabulous ! We will definitely return. The drive there added to the experience in a good way and by the way, their website specifically states their policy about beverages and food.
Persimmon Ridge Winery is a hidden gem!
We have been going to Persimmon Ridge Winery for years. It’s by far my favorite. I love Bill and Angela . They make you feel like family. The scenery is beautiful. It has a cozy feeling. Also it’s great we can pack a little picnic basket and enjoy with a few bottles of our favorite wines from the Ridge.
the most terrible wine i have ever tasted 🤮
Great flavors, the white ridge sweet was my favorite. Atmosphere is extremely serene and relaxed in the late morning/early afternoon. Bill and Angie are WONDERFUL hosts, great to converse with. Will definitely return. ??
We really like the atmosphere here. The bands are very enjoyable.
The place is very hard to find on a long gravel road but that was not the worst. I bought a bottle of wine but was told they have no even paper buckets for ice to keep it cool. We went for karaoke for a friend and another friend had made reservations for us. NO WHERE did it mention when making the reservations that every person would be required to make a $16 meal purchase from the food truck that THEY asked to be there. Halfway through the night the friends that made the reservations were asked to pay the $16 for everyone that was not able to make it. There is no way to control who cannot make it at the last minute and again no where did it say everyone was required to make a meal purchase. Needless to say my friends did not pay the ridiculous request. Then at the end of the night when I went to pay my bill was higher than expected. When I questioned I was THEN told that they add an over 8% fee for using credit cards. Had I know prior I would have used cash. The prices are higher and as another review said they even charge for water. The only good thing that can be said is at least the building was clean.
The lady that owns the place was super sweet at first. Let us come in even when they were technically closed. She was very welcoming.
But by my second glass of wine, I was done with the place. I asked for a glass of tap water, "sorry we only sell bottles of water." literally the only place I know of that does not serve tap water - that's a standard practice with serving alcohol. They're so hung up on making sure they can pinch every penny I guess that they don't realize that people have to cut themselves off way sooner if they aren't drinking water (and people generally aren't going to pay for bottled water in a sit-down place, since. 99.9% of them don't charge for water). Only my second time there and there are signs everywhere warning people not to bring in outside food and beverage (like every restaurant) and she made a point to tell me that on the phone, felt a little goofy honestly.
Went to a nearby bar that served wine and free water and won't be coming back. Could be a good place if the owners realized that grubbing costs them more than they think they're saving.

Nice secluded winery - my only complaint children are not welcome here. I’m a grandmother of six and we chose to celebrate Mother’s Day here - five of my grandchildren came (ages 12 through 2). My 12 year old grandson had gone back to the car by himself to get his mom’s cell phone, and that’s when the owner came over to tell us to watch our children. We had been there an hour and they were all well behaved - just saying if children are not allowed here - that needs to be added on your website /
I love this winery! It is a quaint, secluded spot. Always good service, great wine and the pizza is amazing. The decor is wonderful. My only complaint is we don't get there nearly enough?. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Designer Bag Bingo, what hoot. The winery is beautiful and always lots of fun.
Owners are rude and very unwelcoming a first and a last for me don’t waste your time
