The food was mediocre. The waitress could have been more friendly. I wanted a fresh cup of coffee and she said it was only about 2 hours old. I asked her if she would make a fresh one and she refused because they were going to close in an hour. I left her a nice tip anyway but I will not be returning. I was a waitress for 35 years and if somebody came in 5 minutes before we closed and wanted to fresh cup of coffee I made a fresh pot of coffee. That customer service done right!

Tara's Cafe and Malt Shop is a delightful café in Belton’s Olde Towne. Come for the atmosphere and stay for the milkshakes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The milkshakes are delicious. I give them a 8 out of 10. There was no cherry on top, or in my case, a blackberry on top. While I was there a blind woman was there with her granddaughter. I took that as a handicap accessible stamp of approval.I sampled 3 of their burgers. The Jiffy burger, a regular hamburger, and a Bison Burger. All the burger came plain, with condiments on the side. Which made the burgers look basic and did not excite me. I give the plain burgers 5 out of 10. With the condiments, I give them a 7 out of 10. I could not tell if the burger buns were toasted. Which led to a very boring mouth feel when I tried the burgers without condiments. Once I added the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle, to the burgers they had a lot more textures and flavors for me to enjoy.

Was waiting with my family for a table to open And the server skiped over us and seated 6 people then turned and told us they had no spot for us. For atleast 45 minutes. Thanks for doing that to my kids.

Great little diner with terrific food and friendly people. The corn dogs are fantastic! So, are the onion rings and tater tots. And, it's connected to an antique store, which is one of my weaknesses. I'll be back.

I got charged for two orders of sausage at $3.50 each. I received 2 patties and an extra plate. I very specifically asked the waitress at checkout if the side of sausage was one patty or two. She looked me dead in my face and said one. You can check all the online menus posted, it's two. You could have easily fixed that when I asked about it. Instead you now get a one star review. $3.50 for one 2" (maybe) sausage patty? That's so crazy I shoulda said something. Also, they charge you $2 for a cup of coffee, only give you one refill, and fill it up when it's half empty.

Tara's is a wonderful, friendly place to eat with competent staff and delicious food. Trena is my favorite waitress. Once when I ordered a pie, they made it special for me and it was ready on time and was fresh and delicious.
