Christina's place is the perfect stop between stl and kansas! The best chicken strips, amazing burgers, the tots and fries are amazing. I've never come in a place with average expectations that were blown out of the water. Great service too! The the mother and daughter cook together, they even came to check on us! Amazing little stop, please check it out.

The kind of downhome small town Americana dive you don't want to miss that makes you feel at home when you walk in the door and full when you leave.

Went there on Friday afternoon. The food was amazing. The owner visit's with her customers and likes to get to know them. If your in the area, it would be a good place to stop and take a break. They are open Tue-Thur 6:30 a.m. till 2p.m. Friday and Saturday's they stay open later. Thank you Christina for the conversation and great food!

First - WARNING- do not follow Yelp directions to Nelson. This restaurant is in the historic and very cute town of Blackwater. The place is small-town charming. The staff is very friendly. The food was OK - nothing special but we enjoyed our lunch and our walk around the town.

Stopped in the quaint little town of Blackwater right around dinnertime and this place looked cute. Honored to be the first reviewer of this little gem. Christina (server, not owner) was wonderful! Welcoming, attentive, and fun. You'll feel like you're eating at your relative's house--from the vintage Corelle dishes to the dessert cut from the 9X13 pan. I had the bacon cheeseburger (slightly overdone) with lots of delicious krinkle fries and a nice side salad with homegrown tomatoes. My husband and I shared the strawberry cake and banana cream pie but we couldn't decide which one we liked better. Don't miss this adorable throwback diner!
