Say at the bar and conversed with co-owner Steve. Great burger and conversation. I had the sweet Bleu burger. The addition of the fig was an interesting twist that raised the flavor profile! If you're a bourbon lover, this place is for you. The Thursday each month is a bourbon club tasting. Check it out!

Cute place. Creative menu. So many things I want to try. Good food but small portions (sides are a handful of fries) so that makes it a bit overpriced for what you would expect. Service a bit slow.

We were visiting Stockton lake and drove over to Basil and Bourbon. We had an amazing experience! The service was excellent, the prices are so reasonable, the drinks were perfect and the food we fell in love with. Thanks for a great night ❤️.

Bolivar is a lovely town and Basil and Bourbon is a jewel! What a lovely gathering space, thoughtfully created. You’ll find delicious homemade sauces and amazing flavors. Had never tried fried olives before and now I’ll be looking for it. Make the time for Basil and Bourbon!

This was my first time at Basil and Bourbon. I had "The Reuben" and beer fries, it was the best Reubon I've ever had. I will go again and try the meals my friends had, which looked equally good.

Best dining experience in Bolivar. I used to live in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA and with all of their touting of their restaurants in Seattle and Portland…none of them can hold a candle to Basil & Bourbon. Food is amazing…drinks are amazing…and service is second to none. Also, my compliments to the Chef. The thought she puts into her food is second to none. So awesome to have such a top shelf dining experience in Bolivar. Best dining experience in all of the Midwest that rivals anywhere in the nation. Thank you Basil & Bourbon.

No vegetarian options, luckily I also eat sea food. Shrimp tacos were good, but mushy, no crunch. The drinks were nice, but pricey. Set up as fairly formal dining, would be better as a drink lounge.

Vegetarian options: None except maybe a Caesar salad which I don't count.

Tonight was pretty disappointing, unfortunately. In total we were there for almost two hours. We ordered a sweet tea, a diet coke, fried green beans, two burgers (one with baked mac & cheese and the other with beer fries), and a children's chicken tender meal for our one year old.

It started off odd with the server coming to ask us if we were ready to order, before she'd ever gotten our drinks. We ordered our food, ordered our appetizers and our drinks. The kids cup that was recommended has being "hard to tip over" was a small glass milk jug with no childs lid and most definitely not child friendly. The first half of the experience was okay. However the tea was extremely watered down, but we were optimistic about the meal. That was until we hit the 45 minute mark, and we were told three times that our food would be out. After an 1 and 15 minutes, and a SUPER hangry toddler we got out food. To our surprise only our child's side was correct and our hamburger patties were way too round to not be anything but a frozen patty. We did end up getting my side cooked to go, but the fries that were provided were luke warm. Our child's chicken tenders tasted like it had taco seasoning on the batter, which was weird. We were told my side of mac & cheese would take 10 minutes to cook. It wasn't ready by the time we needed to leave. All of that to say our meal cost $60.00 for two frozen patties, a children's chicken tender, consistenly watered down tea, and a mac & cheese that was eventually brought to my husband after everyone went to the car in a piping hot bowl when she knew it was to go. So, he got to burn his fingers putting it in a bowl. Which the mac & cheese was very bland but my toddler loved it.

I hope this isnt a regular practice, but it wasnt a great first experience.
