I’m struggling to find the words to adequately reflect the excellence of this place. As I type this, I am eating my leftover tamale, rice, and beans from yesterday. Still delicious as ever. The tamales are HUGE and are made with the most tender, flavorful pork you’ve ever had. And the rice and beans? They aren’t just run-of-the-mill. The rice is perfectly cooked (not weirdly crunchy, or on the other end of the spectrum, mushy) and seasoned immaculately. And the beans are no different! Just splendid. They definitely know what they’re doing.
The people here are very, very nice. From the man behind the cash register taking our order to the woman who brought our food to the table, everyone seemed genuinely cheerful. You know when you go into a restaurant and they seem so annoyed that you’re there? 😂 None of that here! Just really good attitudes that contributed to a great lunch.
Another element of this restaurant that impressed me was the plating! Neat, tidy, and extremely appetizing.
I highly recommend Tacos No.1 and I can’t wait to go back!

I usually frequent Arandas but they were closed so we decided to try this place. Ordered a couple carne asada burritos, got a few pieces of steak and the burrito was 99% beans, rice, lettuce and tomato. The only thing that should be in a carne asada burrito is carne asada, cheese, pico and guac. It was also very soggy and not wrapped well. Bland. Very disappointed and a very expensive mistake.

As a Mexican who has had Mexican food from the motherland… this place deserves nothing less than 5 stars! The owners provided amazing service, they were welcoming, and their restaurant felt like home! I had the menudo which is exactly what my soul needed, and the quesabirria had the most tender meat possible! The tacos weren’t overfilled, the cheese was the perfect amount, and the consome had the best flavor. This will now be a monthly trip for us! Cannot recommend enough! 💕
