I’ve eaten at this restaurant multiple times, and each visit has been a delight. The food is consistently delicious and full of comforting, familiar flavors. In fact, the taste reminds me so much of my dad’s cooking—it’s something very personal and nostalgic for me.
Reza, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. His warmth and passion for good food truly shine through in everything he serves. You can tell that he puts his heart into every dish.
Thank you, Reza, for creating such a special place. I always leave feeling full and happy—and already looking forward to the next visit.
Great service and absolutely delicious food! Will come back if I'm ever in town again.

I really liked the food. Just off 2-70 and near DePaul Hospital. Relaxed setting for traditional Persian cuisine.

It's OK. My least favorite Persian restaurant I've been to in the US by far. First, the waitress was obviously high and smelled strongly of weed. She never gave us utensils. I even asked her and she said OK and never came back. I had to get up and get them myself.
She also forgot the tahdig appetizer we ordered and didn't start making it until about 45 minutes after. The tahdig was also the worst I've had. They don't use saffron and they grill it.
The salmon kabob wasn't a Kabob. It was just a fillet and it was also very poorly seasoned.

I had the humus with flatbread and filet mignon. The food was absolutely amazing and ALL the food is made fresh. The more preservatives and artificial flavoring you cut out of your diet, the better. I have a rule: if the restaurant isn't focusing on atmosphere, it's because they are focusing on the quality of their food and Esther's is no exception. I highly recommend it.

Grabbed lunch at one of my favorite places today Esther's Persian Cafe, with a friend. Started with the hummus (the best ever), I chose the Ghormeh Sabzi and my friend went for the Gheymeh eggplant.
While waiting for our food we were treated to a new item they are considering putting on the menu, yellow carrot juice. We both gave it a thumbs up and received some great antioxidants for the endeavor. We said that if it doesn't make the menu, we want the option to order it in the future.
Ended the meal with baklava for myself and my friend went with Turkish coffee. It was a great afternoon to catch up, relax, and enjoy some downtime in a very busy season.

First impressions were quite good! This little gem has some amazing dishes, each packing a huge dose of flavors! The portions were generous when dining in & the price was fair!
The ghormeh sabzi & fesenjan were delicious! The sabzi was herbaceous & very savory. I could eat it often! The fesenjan was full of walnut flavor & sweetness from the pomegranate. The hummus was good, but the mixed pickles were outstanding!
It's a small location, so don't expect too fancy. Might be a short wait involved , as when we were there the owner was doing all the jobs alone, but definitely worth it!
We will be back & I would advise to try here soon! The owner was polite & the food was stellar!
