Helm Street is Brookfield's version of 'Cheers'. Everyone will be known to one another- neighbors, friends, cousins, or at least nodding acquaintances. The old building was cozy and authentic, but was a collapsing rat hole. The relatively newer concrete floor and stacking chairs are not cozy or charming, but, rather, utilitarian and functional. The restroom is well maintained. Smoking is still happening in here, so that will either be positive or negative depending on one's stance. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is hot and satisfying. The bartenders are generous and well-informed on the local gossip, legend, and lore. It will remain a 'go-to' destination whenever visiting Brookfield, despite the echo-chamber-like concrete floor and noisy metal meeting chairs. The food, staff, and company are worth it.

My dad would have loved this place, he was a smoker till the end. He died of high blood pressure from smoking. Food is good. I just have to go home wash everything that is on me. Put my shoes outside and take a shower so I don’t stink up the house. Other than that would eat there again

We love everything about this establishment. The staff are always amazing and friendly and the place is very nice and well maintained. The food is exceptional every time. We eat in and do take out and it's always right, hot and tasty. My husband says they have the best cheeseburger ever and I'm in love with the Philly cheese sandwich. The seasoned steak fries are great too. You will never go wrong coming here.

My brother and I ate lunch hear. He has eaten here before as his wife is from Brookfield but this was my frist time. Very good food they had a good menu and also daily specials. But just be aware that it is a bar and they do allow smoking, ash trays on all tables. But when we were there I didn't see anyone smoking but you could definitely smell it but no bad. I also seen that they have live music sometimes and had pool tables.
