This has been one of my fav since I was a kid. I love the food and the gracious owner Mercedes. She put her heart in the retutaunt, and it shows. Put it on your list next time you're in Cabool

Parking: The store front is on main street downtown. Parking is in front of her establishment. Downtown is real slow and easy

We tried this place today for the 1st time . After reading the reviews I was super disappointed . We will definitely not be returning. The food is expensive and was very bland . Our waitress wasn't very welcoming at all . She took forever for her to take our order . Once she brought our food to the table she never returned. When she finally came back she took our plate and brought our check . We felt very rushed .

This place is terrible not sure how they have such a high rating when literally all their reviews are low stars. *Please DO Not stop here if you are traveling spare yourself the grief and just go to the next town or buy Taco bell. The environment was very sterile and not welcoming at all. They have pictures of family all over however are not family friendly at all. There is no changing table in the restroom and they ignored the fact their was a young child with us. Their kids section on the menu is not very good. The lady at the front wasn't very friendly. The waitress were dressed like mini chiefs reminded me of the movie ratatouille... I hope they were not taking orders and cooking or worse have rats in the kitchen cooking...They also came in pairs to the table which was off-putting because the main waitress was very rude and the other just stood there and never said anything or introduced herself. They only give you 1 basket and chips and salsa complementary but barely fill the chips half way so you might as well say they only give you half a bowl of chips for free. The food wasn't hot and the food tasted old like they made it that morning. Also the quesadilla ordered had no char on the outside and was very limp and greasy my lo wouldn't even eat it. It's not Texmex or Mexican food it was very bland and overpriced. No wonder half their restaurant was closed with the lights off probably can't afford the electric bill to turn all the lights on. The queso dip tasted like cheese soup they added salsa to for color. Overall probably the worst experience I have had in Missouri. Chipotle I would consider more Mexican than this restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly or family friendly

Stopped in after our trip at Branson. This was so unexpected. The cleanliness of the restaurant. The taste of the food. Portion size. The tortillas are fresh made and fell apart on your fork. Just a cute little hole in the wall place, but with pizazz. So glad we stopped!

If you like your Mexican food with no seasoning this would be the place. Most places bring you more chips and salsa but most of the time I've been here, they charge for more salsa without telling you it costs. Pretty tricky since it's complimentary everywhere else. One time we were eating fish tacos and one person ordered some sauce he liked on them and bragged how good it was. The owner said she'd bring some for everyone. That seemed nice until it appeared on everyone's bill! I didn't order it or want it. That's the only time I've had restaurant order something for me and charge me for it.It's very clean and probably has the best atmosphere of any Mexican restaurant in the area. Too bad the food is bland (consistent criticism in other reviews) and overpriced for what you get.

We’ve driven through for 20+ years and never stopped for dinner in Cabool. Tonight we did and it won’t be our last time. I got enchiladas they were on point. My husband though got the Baja Quesadillas which were fire! He said he’ll be back again just for those. He highly recommends 10/10. I was a little jealous even though my enchiladas were really good! The house salsa and chips were very good. Salsa has a little heat and I really enjoyed it. Our servers were professional yet friendly. The food came fast and hot and we were back in the road in no time.

We were looking forward to eating from El Imperial, have been going there for almost 20 years. After today, NEVER again!! Whoever heard of putting a dinner in TO GO cups instead of putting a dinner together! Half a cup of pork chili verde, and watery as hell. And to top it off, for a take out 'dinner' no utensils, no napkins. It sucks! Quality as well as quantity has gone downhill! Thank goodness for Jason's Mexican Restaurant in Willow Springs! I am sure Mamacita would not be happy seeing this review, but the owner/kid that is running it, needs to get his act together!!!

Out showing property after church. We split the fajitas and chimichanga. I preferred the fajitas over the chimichangas. They didn’t have my fresh grilled jalapeños that make everything better. Chips and salsa were super! I could drink it. Hubby thought it was a little hot but I thought it was perfect. Nice atmosphere and decorating. Maybe leave more napkins at the table, I go through a few! Lol

We've been there at least twice and have not been disappointed at all. Service is without equal and bar drinks (margaritas) are impressive. I like it when mixed drinks are served in authentic glassware. My wife and I had chimichangas and on another occasion had enchiladas. I tried the Mexican omelet one time and was great. We ate so much last time we were there that we felt we needed to take a walk. Went across the street and we found a very unusual store with a flea market sign splashed across on one of its windows. We now recommend going there after lunch or dinner, the amount of stuff to see there is just amazing.

Clean and friendly. I had the beef chimichanga with queso, and it was remarkable. Ate it so fast forgot to take a photo!

Love everything about our dining experience. The food the staff and the atmosphere was strupendous. Yes I made that word up. I have a new favorite restaurant. I didn't say favorite Mexican restaurant either. I mean restaurant period of any kind. Warm friendly and all around strupendous!!!!

This place was so disgusting and bland! No flavor what do ever. Hurt my stomach so bad and made me want to puke after words. The sweat tea was good it was the best part of the place!!! If I could give zero stars I would this place is terrible. The mirror in the lady’s room was broke. In the dinning room where you eat there is no roof it’s just boards. TERRIBLE FOOD
