These cookies were such a great addition to our Thanksgiving dessert bar! They all were so good & tasted just as described! Thank you!
Literally the best cookies I've ever had! Looking forward to finishing the cookies I bought to immediately buy more 😍 I'm dancing eating my fruity pebble one right now 💁🏼♀️🤣
So delicious!!! Might I say, even better than Crumbl. The presentation of the cookie to the wrapping 🫶🏼🫶🏼
The cookie lady not just made the best cookies I’ve ever had, but was probably the nicest lady I’ve ever met. Wonderful customer service and answered all the questions I had. Will be ordering more soon!
We stay at Big Cedar about four times a year. This past week I went for a business trip and stayed in the hotel section. We usually do a cabin - as a matter of fact we are going next week for thanksgiving because we have always loved BC. I am writing this review to hopefully help someone avoid having a bad experience. The room I stayed in was more than dated and dirty (see photos). This has not been my previous experience and would recommend steering clear of the hotel next to the conference room. I was in room 118. Again, I have always loved BC, but this was less than stellar hotel room.
Am only reviewing the restaurant. We were there because of a BlueGreen presentation. When finished wanted place to eat without driving. We ate at the Buzzard Bar. There was at least one other option, but the menu wasn't what we wanted. The ambiance was great. Very rustic and all wood everything. We ate in the restaurant area in what I believe is the basement. Be aware the room is not very large so could easily be crowded, although we were there before the evening dinner crowd. We both ordered the French Dip and we both liked it. The menu is limited. It didn't bother us as we had several options. The meal for a sandwich is pricy, $18. It was very good though. This place and the ground around it might be difficult or impossible for a handicapped individual as the parking area is on the side of a hill and the overflow is through a stand of trees. I loved the setting but was aware of how hard it was for some to get around. We were there just before the evening dinner rush, which started early. We arrived between 4-5pm. The casual tourist will never be here as it is well off the road. The resort is large. We both wondered how easy it would be if one stayed there because it didn't seem there were many options for meals.
We stayed a weekend in a cabin in August for our Anniversary. Friday night our sleep was disturbed when my wife heard something in the room. I discovered that mice had gotten into the Welcome Basket snacks; gnawing the packages open which made a lot of noise. I put the basket in the frig and hoped that was it. We told the maids the next day about it. Saturday night I was awaken by noises that I could not attribute to squirrels or raccoons on the roof. My wife was already awake and said there is something in the room. I switched on the lights and saw several mice scampering away. I immediately called the front desk and asked for a manager. The person told me that a manager would be in at 8 or 9 the next morning and that he would leave a note for the manager to call us. We tried to sleep with the lights on, which was very unsatisfying. We waited for a call that never came. I wrote the next week and never got a reply. The rest of the weekend was 5 stars. The Worman House, the Swimming Hole, the Shooting Academy, the Devils Pool, the Ozark, shuttle service, etc. were all great: people, food, facilities. But the cabin was infested with mice, and Big Cedar was disinterested: Zero stars.
I attended a business meeting at Big Cedar Lodge. The resort itself was quite nice. The rooms we stayed in were cramped, dirty and awful smelling. The staff could not move anyone in our group to better rooms as the resort was full. Nice resort....rooms in Valley View Lodge were really dated and dirty.
My family was very excited about Big Cedar. Unfortunately, due to my husband's nature of work, we are unable to go when we initially planned. We make sure that we know the reschedule policy of anywhere we book beforehand before this. Their policy currently states: "If you make changes to your reservation at any time after booking (including changing stay dates, reducing the number of nights stayed, and changing accommodation types), you will be assessed a $100 change fee." I emailed to adjust our reservation and was told "We are not currently offering reschedules". But if I cancel, I forfeit my money. Don't say that "if you make changes to your reservation at ANY time after booking...." if you can't make changes at ANY time after booking.

It's a long, winding road to get to registration but scenic. We found a more direct way on and off the property that we preferred. We stayed in a 1 bedroom lakeside cabin. Unfortunately the thick trees blocked our view of the lake. The cabin was quaint, cozy, clean and nicely appointed. Our room was attended to on the days we chose, toiletries were refreshed and towels replaced. There is a lot to do at Big Cedar if you want to stay busy but we were there to relax and we did. The property is huge and very well maintained. It's wooded and kept natural. I saw 6 deer feeding early one morning and a red fox trotting along the road. The large shop has nice variety of quality items for sale. We were there buying something almost every day. There a several restaurants on property. We tried a couple. The food was quite good but since we eat a large lunch and then snack dinner, our options were limited as some places didn't serve lunch. My biggest problem was how expensive this place is. They charged us extra for having a microwave in our room which was built in after they said the room came with a microwave. There was a $32 daily resort fee which was never mentioned till after we paid and then received an itemized bill. The lodge has yet to respond to my husband's inquiry about these charges. A bottle of wine in the shop was $22 but the same wine cost $46 when purchased with room service. I felt a bit nickled and dimed by the end of our stay. We really enjoyed our stay but our dissatisfaction with prices/charges might keep us from returning.
Just spent the week there 9/22-9/28 celebrating our 41st anniversary. In the end, too expensive. The cheapest meal my wife and I had at any BC eatery was $74 for pizza and a pitcher of Coors light. Food averaged slightly over $200 per day.
Magical place filled with everything you would expect from a resort. The rooms, food, and especially the beautiful outdoor surroundings made it extra special. It is a place you will truly love visiting.
The property is pristine and the rooms are nice. The service is not so good. At check in, the desk attendants couldn’t find our reservation. We were traveling with two small children and had been on the road for 3-1/2 hours. We had a confirmed reservation with a confirmation code through our credit card points. We were able to show them the confirmation letter, but they couldn’t find the booking in their computer. They regarded this as our problem, threw us out of the line, and ignored us for two hours while we figured it out and watched two small exhausted children in the lobby. When we worked it out and they checked us in and gave us our keys, my husband was so relieved that he thanked the desk attendants. They are so clueless and poorly trained, they actually said, “you’re welcome.” (Our credit card company had booked through Expedia, which comes in on some separate system that none of the desk attendants thought to check.)
I admit, I was a bit skeptic, given the price. Or maybe I was worried my expectations were too high. But my high expectations were exceeded in every way. The accommodations at Fall Lodge were beautiful. Room was large. View was breath taking. It was super easy to navigate the property. We took part in the (ticketed) family scavenger hunt and (complimentary) movie on the lawn, which included s’mores and popcorn. Food was expensive but delicious and service was exceptional. We ordered a microwave and bought some groceries in Hollister. The added flexibility of having food available in our room was worth the one-time cost of the microwave. My 9 year old LOVED the mini golf so much we ran out of time for the pickle ball. We will be back with more family. Would like to see the parks during a different season though the bare trees did lend way to much farther out views. Swimming and boating during warmer weather also on the list for next visit. Temps we’re 30’s to 50’s during the morning/day. Our day trips to Top of the Rock and Dogwood still perfect.
