Four of us went for dinner based on a recommendation from an aquaintance. We were amazed that we hadn’t heard about Fillipos previously — because we found, with a few minor exceptions, the food and service to be very good. The food: I had the lobster ravioli with Marsala sauce and it was absolutely fabulous (& I’m someone who makes her own red sauce using DOP certified Italian tomatoes, etc). I can not say enough great things about this place. The food was PHENOMENAL. Loved the music choice. Our server Jason is an absolute STAR ?! He was able to help us pick the perfect wines for our meals, despite us not knowing much about wine. He got us the perfect pairings. He was so incredibly helpful and nice. Seriously, if you are thinking about trying this place out, do it. Go. Go, now. You will not regret it. My husband got the chicken parm and I got the crema di mare pasta....
We went for an early Valentine's dinner and everything was delicious! The Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection, I'm sure the Italian salsa would have been delish, but I was able to change up the sauce to the lemon, caper and mushroom. The tenderloin Palermitana was so tender and flavorful, the eggplant on top added extra texture and flavor that really made it one of our new favorites! It was our 1st visit, but we will definitely be back!
