This place has went super downhill.
I don’t know if there was a change in ownership but the food quality is terrible. Katsu was an overcooked bad cut of pork with a mountain of unseasoned undercooked rice.
Waitress had earbuds in and would barely listen to requests.
Two years ago I would have at least gave it a 4 but this is unacceptable and I felt robbed for what was paid.
Would not recommend.

Use to be one of my favorite places to eat but the quality has went down. The meat is different and tough in the beef udon, didn't put boba in my boba drink, pork buns were frozen in the center so we asked to get them redone and the second batch came out not frozen but still very cold in the middle like they took them straight from the freezer to a microwave. It's just not worth the drive or price anymore for now poor food quality

DoorDash delivery delayed But the food was packaged so well it was still hot.
The Japanese Fries were surprisingly delicious. The Spicy Chicken Katsudon was ok had large slices of onion and the eggs looked like they were cooked in a gravy no seasoning. The omelette was more thin and skimpy than expected or layers like authentic Japanese style omelette. The seaweed salad was ok very skimpy portion with spinach leaves tossed on it. The rice was chewy tastes refrigerated not steamed fresh today. I didn’t request the usual condiments for the type of food I ordered and they weren’t included which I definitely missed. The kimchi side (2 tiny sauce containers) was not authentic.

Atmosphere was dirty. Dirty giant teddy bear on the ground. Boba is needed to be cooked more. It’s hard. Tea is watery. I can barely taste the flavor.

We love coming here, been coming since we first moved 3 1/2 years ago. Today, they really made it extra nice. We were having a slightly rough time, because we had a 1.5 yr old who was super excited, and I made a mistake of ordering something spicy, without realizing it, for him which was horrible after he ate it, but they were so helpful, they gave him some milk and remade the tofu without any spice, free of charge. Without their help, I definitely would’ve had a panic attack. Such lovely girls and lovely establishment!

I’m giving Hi Tea 5 stars because everything is usually way above the normal standard of asian fusion food. I usually get the vegetable udon, spring rolls, and gyoza. Everything and when I say EVERYTHING is always so good and hot, you can’t beat it! I believe it’s worth the price.

Today 9/23/24 the broth on the udon was not the usual and it threw me off. Everything else was spectacular, it reminded me of the Euclid location which in my opinion is not as tasty as the others. Bring back the normal chef please ???

this is NOT a dine-in place... a take-out place and kids hang-around joint (full of carnival toys machines)... food is served in plastic plates, even the bento box i ordered... the vegetable tempura was meh!... the food feels and tastes more like chinese food than japanese food... i thought this was a japanese restaurant... NOT... the staff did not know much about the dishes in the menu but they did bring the order to the table... NOT recommending the place NOR going back

I don’t normally review, and I even hate to write this review. This place use to have decent food, but the last few times I’ve gotten the Tonkotsu Ramen, it’s lacked flavor, watery almost and the egg is basically hard boiled. Not worth money. You’ll find a lot better ramen else where. The Thai tea taste watered down also. Disappointing to say the least. I hate that I have to travel across town to the south side to get good ramen.

Very bad experience not satisfied boba was watered down mostly because Uber eats paired my order with somebody else’s so by the time it got to me it was water down but my Ramen was not good either ??‍♀️poor service ask for extra sauce they didn’t give it no veggies whatsoever they don’t even have popping Boba just not a good experience…

PROS: Good food. Great service.
CONS: Not a traditional serve atmosphere, like it’s order up at the front and wait.

Overcharged us. Decided to give themselves extra money according to my statement.

The drink didn't come mixed. So I tried mixing it but by the end I was just drinking milk. Not really worth it for $6 each

The food is delicious and tasty. I ordered delivery three times and the taste is still good! But this time I found a long black hair in my food. Next time, please check carefully before closing the box. Thank you very much

What a cute and fun place. Menu is fun with lots of options. Got food quick. The fake plants give you some privacy between groups.
