Steak 'n Shake (Temporarily Closed)

Kitchens always seem messy, food takes a long time to prepare. Drive thru is always significantly faster.

I enjoyed their service. I thought the meal was cooked well. It helped me make a diet change.

I've been eating at steak and shake for many many years I would have given this one five stars but this particular steak'n'shake wasn't up to par as usual however it's still a good place overall steak and shake hamburgers are one of the best

I don't know why I keep giving Steak n Shake a chance. Thought if I tried a new location, I might have a better experience. Same old story though. Service was slow and just not good. Food came out wrong, and then came back cold and undercooked. I know this restaurant has the potential to be good, it just never is anymore. I'm not sure if all the Steak n Shakes in Saint Louis are under the same poor management or what.

Go to the other steak and shake. Every waitress looked ready to jump off a cliff. We had our order taken by the MANAGER. We sat ourselves. As I type this out right now, there are 5 employees sitting in the back corner just talking. Horrible service. Wish I could give it 0 stars ?

Even though you're an hour or 2 from closing doesnt mean you 86 the drive threw window. Wonder how much money you lose? When I told the manager who was smoking outside, "you know you got a chair in the drive threw?" Response: "oh ok" smh got to love the ethic.

Worst steak n shake around. Food is nasty, order fogotten, employees don't care about customers. A guy came in who was too big for the booth so he asked if he and his family could sit at a table. They said the tables were closed..so the customer and family left. Later a person in a wheel chair wanted to sit at a table and they wouldn't let her. They stayed, but had to deal with a booth. Saw two parties come in...the were never acknowledged so they left. Absolutely horrible place. Not sure how they are still open.

Drive through took an incredibly long time. This is at 3 o'clock by the way. There were 2 cars in front of me. Took 30 minutes.

Let me preface by saying I love Steak n Shake. It is my favorite fast food restaurant. My experience at this particular restaurant, however, was infuriating. We walked in to be seated at 5pm on a Thursday and were told after standing there for several minutes that they were doing carryout only. No explanation, no apology. I saw two servers in the vicinity and several people were sitting down eating so I have no idea why they suddenly decided to stop seating people. I can only imagine the servers did not feel like working this evening.

Waited for a while to get our food with no apologies. Never got the high chair we asked for. There was only one waitress on staff who was not too friendly. Waited for 20 minutes to get the bill and never got it from the waitress, so I had to walk to the front to check out. Again, no apologies at all. Bathroom was very dirty and out of toilet paper. As we left, they put a sign up saying they were closed for maintenance. I don't think that was the case.

This location is the worst. Always super, super slow and orders are never right. Decided to take a different approach and ordered a to go order through the app, for a pick up 30 min later. Arrived 35 min later to pick it up was told they were finishing it. Fast forward 45 min....still no food had to get a refund. This location needs a major over haul. New ownership along with a new team!

I honestly do not know how this place stays in business. I met my wife there today for lunch, When I got there she already had the drinks and placed our order. There were several people that arrived after us including a party of about 6 or 7. We waited the "normal" of time before we starting wondering where our salads were. Now mind you this is about 1230 PM however, the place was not that busy. After watching the drive thur lane empty twice and 45 minutes later I started to get upset, However, when you are in a uniform you can not speak your mind like you could when your not in uniform. When the large table got served along with another table then I had to say something. We called our server over and asked her if our order had gotten lost or something because we don't even have our salads when other people had gotten their food? Her response to me was "did i take your order?" It was at that time that my wife informed me when she took the order the server did not write it down, so she forgot to turn it in. I can understand that they get backed up with orders, and she even walked around several times and saw that we had no food in front of us. Enough was enough the wife and I got up and started to leave when I heard her tell the manager that we where leaving because we did have our order. I asked if he was the manage and advised him to not make the order That I needed to get back to work, and he looked at me and said "what do you want me to do about it" . Customer service now a days has gone right out the window. I can understand employees but also the management. We walked out and WILL NOT come back.

Great prices, tasty food. Very short staffed, and then those didn't seem to care about taking orders, and being those orders to the customer in a timely manner. Allow 30 minutes or longer to order, and receive your food. Definitely not fast food style.

The best Steak n Shake in the area! Sparkling clean. Fast friendly service. Excellent cook, remembers your order, chats with customer. Cool vibes. Old school diner. Shakes. Addicted to the 2 for $3 double butter steak burger😋 Love the app too! Gives bonus rewards, easy to load gift cards/payment/order ahead. Best burger in the area, fresh and perfectly seasoned to make you drool. I will be back!
