Peniku Japanese Hibachi Grill

The service was fast and friendly. The food was really good. The only bad point is the atmosphere. When we arrived I almost drove away but was glad that I didn't. The saying that you can't judge a book by its cover definitely applies to this place.

Do not be afraid of eating Midwest Sushi here! The owners know what they’re doing. Kind service staff and fresh, tasty large portions. Thanks for the delicious experience, Clinton, MO Peniku!

Great service the staff treated us like we had been coming their for years the soup was out standing my chicken and steak was cooked perfect my wife really liked the food we will eat their more often 😀

Ordered Philly Roll, Shrimp Tempura, miso soup with Katsu Chicken. All were yummy and perfect !!

We found this treasure a few years ago and look forward to stopping in on all our trips to and from KC area. Food is spectacular and reasonably priced. Service is tops. Facilities are clean. Wish we had a Peniku Japanese Habachi Grill closer to Springfield!

The building was a little older but the friendly staff eased us quickly once we went in.
They used to just be a food truck and grew from there so the community seems to support them which I love a good success story.
We enjoyed a large sushi menu and excellent pot of green tea (tea bag). The food was NOT too greasy, oversauced, or salty like some places. The veggies were perfectly cooked with a bit of crunch. The sushi was yummy and had amazing ginger to go with it. They even made a personal request with no problem.
We were surprised and enjoyed our meal and overall experience.
The young staff have much to learn the but the owners and more experienced waitstaff were good examples of small town friendly style.

Overall, this was a good experience. The food was ok, we had steak Hibachi, with fried rice and vegetables. I have had better, but I have also had worse. The waitress was attentive, and the prices were reasonable.
Plus side is the crab Rangoons. This is a must.
If I am ever back in the area, I would be willing to eat there again.

I would like the vegetables to be cooked a little bit longer and they have a peppery spicy taste. I love their sauce and steak! alot of young people work here and some act like they are on another planet.

Vegetarian options: you can have just fried vegetables if u want

Parking: the parking lot goes all the way around building. all same level.

Wheelchair accessibility: all same level parking so a wheel chair should have no issues door seems to be wide enough
