Kettelhut's Smokehouse

I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw. The only reason I got the coleslaw was because they ran out of lettuce to make a salad. It turned out to be the only decent thing in the order.
The sandwich was particularly disgusting. It was sopped with grease to the point that I used up every napkin on the table to try to blot it. I can still taste the lard.
The fries were cold, limp and overly salty. I had to order a new batch.
The atmosphere is loud and not very appealing to the eye and I just love the toilet on the floor of the bathroom. Was it designed by a two year old?
Save your money, the place is a hole.

The corn didn't really have a taste but the brisket and chicken were good. Baked beans were really good too.

4 of us decided to try Kettelhut's Smokehouse. We had 2 plates of pick 2 with brisket, pulled pork, cole slaw & fried okra. Had another pick 2 plate with pulled pork, brisket, green beans & cole slaw. Last one had a brisket plate with cole slaw & fries. The brisket & pulled pork were phenomenal , both just melted in your mouth with goodness. The cole slaw was very good , as were the fried okra & fries. Green beans were pretty good as well. Our waitress was so polite & very thorough at seeing to our needs. This bar-b-que house ranks at the top. We would highly recommend Kettelhut's to anyone seeking a great eating experience... A+ all the way ...

I felt like the meat was a little on the dry side. There were plenty of sauces to choose to solve that however. I think I ordered the Beef Brisket sandwhich.

I decided to give this place another try after three years, hoping things had improved unfortunately, they haven’t. Our bill came out to around $80, and almost everything we ordered was disappointing. The turkey, pork, brisket, and cheeseburger were all overly dry, and the chicken sandwich was so greasy it couldn’t even be eaten. It’s frustrating to see the same issues still happening after all this time. The only positive part of the experience was our waitress she was very kind and attentive. Sadly, though, that won’t be enough to bring us back again.

I usually come here a lot and can tell you the service has gotten a whole lot worse. I ordered a brisket and brought me out a handful and charged $20. That was a rip off and insult. I was here a month ago with the same order and it was a lot, not it is a little. For $20 it wasn't worth the price. They raise the price and cut the portions to profit instead of giving the customer what they ask for. Worst part was waitress told manager l cussed her out, never happened. Have a witness. Then the manager comes out and says will will give you extra to supplement it. Never showed up with the extra. Waitress and manager both lied. No tip!

Struggled to find a good way to rate this on a 5 point system. Would give a 3.5 if possible.

The good:
-Not too crowded for lunch.
-Chicken breast on top of the salad was juicy, well seasoned, and delicious.
-The slaw is a great balance of creamy with a hint of vinegar tang.
-First time trying a raspberry vinaigrette cucumber salad, was also fantastic.

The okay:
-Portion size was reasonable but not excessive. Enough to fill up but not enough for left overs.
-Interior dining area looks clean and well kept.
-Music was audible but not too loud.

The bad:
-Unfortunately the brisket. On the dry side with several parts of the flat being obviously overcooked. The point was cut with the grain - whomever cut this must not be well versed in brisket cutting.
-Men's restroom had several flies and could have been cleaned better.

Had good reviews online, passing thru town. Glad I stopped in. Great service, waitress/barkeep recommended smoked brisket. Portions were huge with fried potatoes n green beans. Wishes I had a beer but was driving. Great atmosphere kinda like small bar n grill combined with a cafe. Cool place definitely be coming back in morning travels

Not only delicious, but I actually got FOUR meals from the full rack of ribs. Staff were cheerful and fast. I recommend this highly.
