Remember that I am rating this as a dive bar, not a prime steakhouse. Service was good, food was also better than expected. Great place to just drop in for a beer and a burger.

Been here a bunch of times for drinks and everything was fine. Stopped for lunch today at 12:30. 2x the guy stocking cases of beer in the middle of the restaurant slammed into my chair. The bar area tables were full, but I guess that's the best time to stock your dining room with cases of beer. Fries came out 15 minutes before the sandwich. Not very attentive. It took 15 minutes before we saw a waitress. Didn't seem like she cared if we were there

We've been meaning to try this place out as they advertise that they have been perfecting the burger since 1879. I must say that the burger was very good. The meat tasted fresh and was well seasoned in the inside. The onion rings were alsoa fresh and tasted home made. While it wasn't my favorite cheeseburger ever, I do think it's a contender for top 5.
Also, lots of history to this place which adds to the ambiance and enjoyment. If you like to watch sports while you eat they had lots of TV to watch.

So many good things to say about this place. The atmosphere and the service were amazing. Their cocktails are superb especially the ones using the liquor made from their distillery. The food is just as good! The cheeseburgers literally melt in your mouth, the fries were perfect, and my absolute favorites are the Jalapeño Bottle Caps.
I ate here with my wife last night and we had a really bad experience. We ordered buffalo wings and trash wings with fries, and soon after we finished, we both started feeling sick. My wife rushed to the restroom as soon as we got home, and I was up all night going back and forth between the restroom and feeling awful. We think we got food poisoning from the meal. I’m still not feeling great and am currently seeing a doctor. I hope the restaurant really addresses this and improves their food safety.

This place is simply the best and such a great unique part of STL. Solid Burger, great staff and plenty of space. Consistency is great here and food comes out fast. Always a good time. fried mushrooms and the burger is just the best. but Wings work are great too!
