The food is great. My server and service was eh. (They overcooked my steak, and I waited 2 hrs for it, plus I got no refills on my water that whole time) The food that came though was amazing, sans my steak. Would eat again. 9/10

If you're looking for a beautiful view without paying for the luxury, try The Point. It's just astounding the place exists, let alone how expansive and verdant is its cliff-side view over a river.

Food is not great for the outrageous prices. The only thing it has is a nice view of Portugese Point. Wait staff is mediocre. If you do want to try it order the Ribs, more bang for your buck! DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN! There are better places outside Fort Leonard Wood to get steaks and Ribs. Blah! So not happy with this place.. when you walk up to it there are a bunch of stray cats and racoons eating in the entry way, and when you walk in its run down, we ordered the grilled chicken which comes with 1 side, it came out to $18 each plus tax, and all we got was a nugget size piece of chicken and 7 yes we counted 7 thin pieces of fries, and half a piece of toast! all dry! no sauce! yuck!! just all around bad experience, staff was not friendly at all!

Come here if you want a good steak. It's a little drive off the main hwy but it's worth it for the view they offer from the restaurant. They are very friendly towards military people. They have a few waitresses there who are from Guam, and you can call them ahead of time and ask them to make some rice for you to eat with your steak. Also they make a sauce called finadene, which is a great alternative to steak sauce. That is a great way to get a part of home when you're stuck in Missouri.

Good steaks, atmosphere, service, and view (if visiting during the daytime), a restaurant that you have to experience. Recommend the meat (steak), ribs are good too! Wash down with Guinness on tap or wine from the local winery (St James - decent, do not expect much, remember, it is from Missouri and the grapes are not quite there yet...) Specials occur throughout the week - all you can eat ribs (beef), catfish, etc. The Point is a family owned and operated steak house really off the beaten path. Service is excellent too - our waitress has been working their for 13 years! Unheard of in the food service industry! Located off Highway 28 (on the way to Dixon, MO) - off exit 163(?) on Highway 44, it is definitely a "locals" favorite, supporting and supported by locals and military from nearby Fort Leonard Wood (also affectionately known as Fort Lost in the Woods). If driving at night, especially during the winter months, be careful because (1) there are NO street lights so it is dark; (2) road is curvy and hilly; (3) during the winter, roads get icy... You will be driving a while, seemingly on the road to "no where," The Point will be off to your left with some Christmas lights as you curve to the right. The atmosphere is "rustic." As the previous reviewer stated, prior military personnel have noted their visits with military "graffiti" of their names, units/locations. A rustic, family owned steak house with character that serves great meat... it may take a while to get their (use your GPS to find it) - check it out! The parking lot is rustic - gravel parking lot so if the weather is wet, be careful too...If you are allergic to cats, be aware that a few (only 3, used to be more numerous before) live under the boards. They are friendly and like to be petted...

The Point is a steakhouse that looks like a favorite for most of the military from Ft. Leonard Wood. If you order (If I can remember correctly) a Porterhouse steak, you are able to write on their walls with a Sharpie which gives the restaurant a lot of character. Surprisingly I didn't order a steak, but I did order the Catfish dinner and it was absolutely delicious. On Fridays, they have an all you can eat Catfish buffet and from what my sister tells me, it is really good and well worth the money so if you're ever in the area, it's definitely worth going to for dinner.
