Dave's diner is great early morning or late night. Breakfast is well perfectly, hash browns crispy. Slinger superb. Tamales in chili and cheese a real favorite. Bacon cheeseburger terrific. Please stop in any location and tell them Dan says Hi. Not a paid endorsement!

We stopped in on 5/21 around 1130pm I had asked for a 8oz steak sandwich a side of waffle fries and coleslaw. When my food arrived the guy made a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and normal fries and no coleslaw. When I told him this isn’t what I ordered he then proceeded to argue with me and tell me the steak was bad and he wouldn’t even serve it to his dog. When I told him I understand that the steaks are bad but why did you not tell me and I would have ordered something else. He still wanted to argue with me about it and kept telling me how that he just made me a $18 sandwich that I didn’t even order. At this point I got up and left and refused to pay for anything. -10 of 10. I will definitely not be coming back to any Dave’s dinner in the future.

Drew is my favorite cook here and the way he cooks the philly is my only reason to come back. he’s here most night but if there’s 2 people working that aren’t him I’d just leave. they messed up my order completely. I drive away now if drew isn’t working because of that.

Go in the one in fenton at 2 a.m. the employee is hiding in the bathroom smoking crack.
My family just left from eating here on 10/13/24 around 12pm and we will never come back again! Watching the lady cook, do cross contamination on people’s food was disgusting! She was handling raw bacon and other meats without washing her hands. She went on to grab freshly toasted toast and spread butter on them while holding it down. Then she went on to prepare a plate that already had fully cooked food on it waiting for toppings, and reached her hands into a bin of mushrooms and placed them on top of the persons food…yuck!! There were also egg shells all over the floor causing the cook to slip while walking…very lazy and disgusting! I wanted to complain but the people I was with didn’t want me too. This cross contamination went on the entire time we sat there. I hope nobody gets sick from this pure laziness we saw today.

The Quality and Service has never been bad however it fluctuates a lot dependent on the personnel at any given time which is true for most small diners where the owner is not normally on site. Dave owns i think 4 diners in Jefferson and St. Louis counties.
Dave only accepts cash and while each location has an ATM on site frequently the ATM might be out of commission.
