Well, I was straight up WOWED!!!!! awesome food !!!!!!I mean if you’re going here it’s all about the barbecue. Everything else is good but the barbecue the pulled pork !!!!!!it’s all awesome.

Hadn't been there since I was a teen and she moved away. But went back for a memorial for a friend and asked another friend if the pig was still open and good as it used to be. She said yes wanna go, so we did! Had the loaded BBQ baked potato, taco tots, and BBQ nachos and it was great! Servings were huge and we couldn't finish it all.(Hint: senior servings would be great). But my hubs is already talking about going back!!!

This is a "must go" restaurant whenever we're in Fredericktown! Their barbecue (especially the brown) is always worth the visit.
Been here like once before this time the time before they took like a hour for like two sandwiches We are Out of towners stopped in for some food waitress on the evening of July 25th brown headed girl only server it looked like on duty or staff at the time had an attitude didn’t give us any time to look at the menu just said “what do you want.” And they provided no menu to us so I had to go online and rush order we would’ve ordered more food if she gave us time to look over the menu instead she pushed us into rush ordering not really a good experience.. she seemed like she didn’t really wanna deal with us and didn’t want to be there or even like enjoy selling the food there .. they also took forever as well once again. - low grade the meat is gross not the best BBQ I’ve had fresh good bbq this is not it I’ll never come back. Very skeet on the fried pickles and the batter on them was basically raw. They were out of most of the bbq we asked for pulled pork out of pulled pork ribs out of ribs she said all they have is sliced pork tried it and it was slimey and bland so we went inside and got bbq sauce and it still didn’t fix the food … it’s a shame seems like this place has a hard time taking accountability and defensive thinking everything is perfect definitely could use improvements.

Was not pleased at all!!! I usually love the Pig and have a great experience, but today was just horrible. My husband and I decided to stop and eat at Pig on our way home today. We went and sat down, nothing out of the usual. We waited 10 minutes till finally my husband got up and went and asked if we are not suppose to seat ourselves anymore cause no one has greeted us, brought menus or even asked for our drinks, mind you we was the only ones in here. They apologize and a young lady finally brought us menus and came up for a drink order. Got our drinks a few minutes later and placed our food order. Everything was fine until we got our food, $4.50 for 8 fried mushrooms....8.....for $4.50 when you can go to bars or restaurants and get a full basket for the same price. Whatever! We will get over it. They were amazing and delicious either way! But then, my loaded baked potato was absolutely gross! The potato it's self was still really hard like it wasn't cooked all the way. The meat and cheese that was on top was room temperature. It was just a nasty cold mess. And on top of that my husband's chili cheese dog was cold, he described it as they just opened a can of basic beans and poured it right on top, it was barley even warm. Don't know what happened but today was not it! I sadly will not be returning after today's experience.

It was our first time down that way to visit Castor Shut-Ins and passed this little place on the way. We love trying new local places wherever we travel so we decided to stop on the way home. As we dined outside with my 2 pups the owner Deborah (sorry if spelling is incorrect) came over to say hi and just chatted with us for a while and it was such a delight. It was almost as if we had known her for years. Everyone there was super sweet, service was phenomenal and the food was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately when we were getting ready to leave our car wouldn’t start. Deborah went and got her portable jump starters since we somehow didn’t have our cables in the new vehicle. She tried everything to help us get it running again. Even a local who parked next to us after some attempts got his cables out and tried his truck. She even got on the phone to her husband and ran home to get the newest portable charger. Once we decided jumping the battery wasn’t working she recommended and called the local tow company that they’ve used in the past. Take in mind it was after 7 pm on a Sunday. This company D&D towing came very quickly and was amazing. He figured out the problem and got us going quickly. After that Miss Deborah also offered and made my mom and I 2 sandwiches each and a drink for the road, no charge since we were there for a couple hours longer than expected and still had a 3 hour drive home!! I cannot give her and them high enough praise!!

I kept hearing how great this place was from the radio and people in public, however our experience was the opposite. We walked in, got seated. The waitress took a tables order who came in after us, and did not take our order for 20 minutes. We then had to wait over 50 minutes for our food, after about 35 minutes of waiting for the food we decided to get the order to go. There is no way anyone could stop here for their lunch break.
