Love going to Carmelitas when I'm down at the Lake. They're always busy, but the staff is on top of it. My glass is never empty, and they're always checking if we need anything else.
The food was good. The portions were large. I assume that it's a family establishment. Our only complaint is that we felt very rushed out the door even though it was empty. I believe that was just the servers making sure we were well taken care of though. Or it's what I want to believe. They are definitely worth a visit. Maybe something small to improve on.
Tried Carmelita's on a Monday evening and we were not disappointed. Their water glasses had KU Jayhawks on them....ROCH CHALK!.
The seafood dinner I ordered was good. If I could offer one change it would be to serve it with a little lettuce and pico to really make the dish better. The shrimp and tilapia were both cooked perfectly and enjoyed the hint of jalapeño in the cheese dip.
