Nobody at our group table had anything good to say about the food. All of us had various barbeque dishes ranging from pulled chicken to pulled pork to the bbq chicken legs dinner. Have lived in St. Louis now long enough to know good barbeque, e.g. Pappy's, Sugarfire 44, Smokee Mo's and Daley's just to name a few, and those listed places have excellent bbq. Iron Barley's definitely did not on the February Tuesday night that I attended. No one had anything positive to say about any of the dishes, even sides. As for my bbq chicken legs, they were edible as were the sides but being honest, the bbq and sides at Dierberg's or any good bbq restaurant would have been better. Nothing tasted homemade and the chicken legs simply didn't taste fresh. I mean Daley's is a place where I fairly recently had bbq chicken legs and the chicken at Daley's was clearly fresh, tasty, homemade and delicious and the sides were interesting and home made and not simply out of a can or the freezer. The opposite at Iron Barley's. There was no discount for the low food quality as prices were average. Only positives are they did have at least one German beer and the service was good considering that one server was responsible for our whole room and group. She actually did an awesome job. With so many good bbq restaurants around and with Dierbergs also having considerably tastier food, I cannot fathom any reason to go here if the quality of the food is any consideration whatsoever.

The food was good and our waitress, Sara, was excellent. The guy bartending didn't seem like he was in a good mood. We sat at the bar, to wait on our table, he threw a couple of menus in front of us, pointed at it and said 26 beers, then walked away. Other than that, everything was fine.

Great sandwiches, wings/legs and watermelon salad! Bbq pizza has great sauce, crisp crust and loaded with smoked pork. For amazing smoked or barbecued meat, Iron Barley is hands-down one of the best in St Louis.

I like supporting local businesses, but we've given this place several chances and it's a hard no for me. The food was mediocre at best. The bartender, Tony, was an absolute A hole. We apparently ruined his evening by sitting at the bar. I've never been treated more rudely.

Love this place! I have been here a long time ago for a party for my friend and loved it. Last night my wife and I decided to take a ride for the prime rib on Saturday night. It did not disappoint, The atmosphere and the employees here are inviting. Our waitress was friendly and the other waitresses in the place checked on us also. This is a must stop if you have not been here, I cannot wait till the weather is nicer to ride the Motorcycle there and enjoy the awesome food. Put this on your list to visit.

I've been wanting to eat here for a long time. I'm very glad we finally made it. Birthday dinner for my wife with friends. Cool rural bar feel with great decor. Greeted and seated promptly. I was pleasantly surprised by the self craft beers. The menu has a broad selection from BBQ to St. Louis style pizza to German dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions are generous. Bacon wrapped fried cheese w/ a tomato mushroom relish started the meal and is delicious. The smoked Pork Chop w/ Weisswurst, the Schnitzel and the BBQ pork chicken pizza were all equally good. There was live music as well. A very fun evening with great food and drinks.

I recommend absolutely everything but the wings. I came here with 3 friends. I got the chili and a small salad. The chili is great! And the salad was very good for a side salad. One friend got a pulled chicken sandwich with green beans and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes are magical. The sandwich was pretty awesome, too. Another friend got hot mess fries... which i personally thought looked disgusting. But absolutely everyone else at the table was impressed by, so don't mind me. My 3rd friend got the wings.... The wings were very disappointing they were oily. They were covered in plenty of sauce, but the sauce was not good. It must have been either the top or bottom of the bottle, because it was like all vinegar, no heat, no flavor. She got fries and coleslaw to accompany the wings. Fries were decent and coleslaw was actually really good. I am definitely going to return. Oh, yes, our service was really good, as well.

Easy solid 5 for some of the best comfort food I've had in a long time. Happy friendly attentive service. Nice craft draft list and excellent cocktails. They really feed you here.Exactly the kind of experience I've been looking for in so long I can't even remember. Delicious.

We've ordered the Pork Loin Dinner before and it was good. Today's pork was mostly fat and very little flavor. Hot tea was $4.00 a cup! Chili dog was way too spicy.
