First time here, will never return. The guy was friendly-ish. Miso soup was saltier than a soft pretzel. Never experienced a bad miso soup before. Does not have spoons with takeout orders,. Gyoza lacked flavor. Teriyaki sauce doesn’t even taste like teriyaki. California roll had old avocado and was wrapped too loose, it wouldn’t stay together. Only thing edible was the white rice. Began feeling sick very shortly after. Entire environment was messy, unsanitary and disorganized. Convinced the reviews are either paid for or people lack experience with good food. Strictly came for convenience, better to go to Miyabi down the road, or Sushi AI at the least.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars because the service was wonderful and the food tasted amazing. I even said out loud while eating, “this is the best sushi I’ve ever had.” We came here to celebrate my best friend’s birthday — it was me, my best friend, her fiancé, and my fiancé. The staff was attentive, the atmosphere was great, and everything about the experience in the moment felt perfect.
Unfortunately, about 12 hours after eating, things took a turn. I became incredibly sick with food poisoning — vomiting and other symptoms that lasted through the night. At first I didn’t connect it to the restaurant because the food had been so good, but the next morning I learned that both my best friend and her fiancé had the same reaction. The only one who didn’t get sick was my fiancé, who doesn’t like sushi and only had chicken fried rice.
This was the worst food poisoning I’ve ever experienced. It was so intense it felt like it would never end. While I appreciate the service and how delicious everything was, I can’t overlook what happened afterward. For that reason, I have to give 1 star.

Best food in Jefferson County, Imperial, MO. We eat here at least once a month, and often get take out. This review was 7 years ago. Quality and service have dropped. I would now give a 3. I hope current owner recovers. I still eat here and enjoy food. But it is not as clean and well run as it was 7 years ago.

Always a great experience here at Fuji Sushi. I've tried Miyabi, Osaka and J Sushi as well but this place has a more intimate dining experience and my favorite roll, the Spice Girl. I get the Gyoza to start with and then use the leftover sauce with one of their many $5 rolls. My girlfriend's favorite is the yellowtail with scallion, she says it definitely beats Miyabi's.
I'm really happy to have such a quality place so close to home.
