Alpha Gal Syndrome - or Allergy ppl - Beware. I Love Don Carlos Restaurant. The food, service and people are Fantastic. But I can never return. Prior to my diagnosis, I ate whatever. Felt bad but dud not know why.
Since my diagnosis, Trying to be supportive of spouse, I have been Safely ordering the Chicken Street tacos. We most often went when not busy. And They always came out - White - like cooked chicken is. And I had minimal or no reaction and could function. Not last Night! Omg. When my food came, I had pretty long conversation with spouse regarding the color of it. Why is the chicken Orangish this time? I suspected it had been put in w my husbands dish (including beef, bacon, shrimp),
Husband said, maybe they just put spice on it. And for those thinking, why didn't you ask. If you have ever been, you Know why. So I ate a little, but stopped after my suspicion got stronger. When I got home I crashed. And did not wake til next morning. Took Claritan, and an H1 inhibitor. Now my eyes are twitching and red, w my face swollen and eyes half closed. It is an Ugly scene. In fact, my entire body is swollen w an increased heart rate (meaning BP is low). I may have to have a driver to my appt today. This will take Days to overcome.
I looked it up and restaurants Should make reasonable accommodations to avoid allergic reactions. Imo my chicken was grilled With the spouse’s food.
I hope the manager reads this and talks to cook last evening. Alpha Gal is an allergen to mammals. (12/8/25). It is becoming more common in this area.
Sadly, I will not be returning here, and only to a couple organic places nearby which guarantee no cross contamination. But those are mot the most appealing places, and home is better.

I love their food and would definitely have no issues having it 4x a month for dinner. Unfortunately Don Carlos doesn't use door dash so I only eat there once every couple of months. Still great food though!!

Thank you for the first and last time i try to eat at you establishment the food was alright a best ,service,none im sorry to say that i worked all year and my boss takes me out to eat to show his grattitude and i cant even eat the food,burnt beans covered up with cheese burnt my steak than put a rare steak on a fajita skillitt

I recently dined at Don Carlos and had an experience that was less than ideal. Unfortunately, we found a roach in our meal. When we brought it to the staff’s attention, they apologized and provided a replacement. While I appreciate their prompt response, I was surprised that we still had to pay for the meal despite the incident. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was quite disappointing, with dim lighting and an uninviting atmosphere. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously to improve their quality control and customer service, as well as enhance the overall dining environment.
My daughters burrito and my chimachanga looked and tasted the same?????
