Excellent food that runs the gamut from well-prepared Cajun staples like gumbo and po'boys to burgers and chicken strips for the less adventurous. Reasonable prices and good service in a casual, sports bar type atmosphere.

I am here in town for a while and this place was recommended to me! Wowwwwww!!! The food is absolutely amazing!! The gumbo is delicious along with the red beans and rice-truly authentic! The atmosphere feels like you are right at home in your living room-it is the local spot! And the Thursday night bingo is a BLAST!!! If you are looking to just get out you must come! You will not be disappointed! The girls behind the bar are the best and they treat you like family! Do not miss out if you are visiting Jackson! :-)

Brisket grilled cheese is my go to. We love the smokehouse tatties too! If it's the evening/weekend time, it can get VERY loud. Lunch time is our favorite to go, it's pretty calm

Found this today, pretty out the way which makes it more interesting, thought I would give it a go, glad I did, nice place, ice cold beer, friendly service and great food. Def be back even though it’s 80 minutes from my place, only surprise was the check at the end, way more expensive than in expected. 20 bucks for 3 crab cakes with no hint of crab,, 9 bucks for a large draft. bit disappointing. If surprise was the service charge, one of those deals with the pre set tips boxes, 25% standard, well our lunch was 116, I gave 20%, it’s getting ridiculous but overall ok.

We have eaten at the Bayou numerous times. Their food is fantastic and plentiful at reasonable prices. Brandon's "Dat Gumbo" is absolutely wonderful. Staff is friendly. Service is great even with a large group. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!
