Food was good and came quickly! The price was great! My only complaint would be the bathrooms. Bathrooms need some upgrades!

If you are like me and grew up in small town America with fond memories of the local diner and buffet, Peggy's Own Family Restaurant is your stop. Friendly greetings by the owner, instantly felt "at home". Oh and did I mention wonderful hoemstyle fried chicken. Whenever passing through Jasper on way to a float trip in Noel or just making your way from Joplin to KC, this is a great stop for a wonderful and economical family minded buffet and diner.

I tried to rate my experience without giving it any stars, but 1 was the lowest it could go.My Dad used to comment, concerning my speed, "Grandma was slow, but she was old."Well, we had 4 generations of our family (5 adults, 3 children) enter above referenced restaurant, wanting to get a quick, sit-down meal, so the younger 2 generations could get started back home for a 3 hour drive back to their home.Plenty of seating available even after we joined 3 tables together. After a while, a person took our order for drinks. They were finally brought to us and dispersed. That person was busily waiting on several tables in an overflow seating area. Another person, seeing that I was wondering if it was self serve, came over and finally started taking the order.About that time, couple "A" entered the establishment and sat down.We were noticing food was finally being brought out to a table that had to be seated 5+ minutes before we even parked our vehicles.About 20 minutes after we placed our order, the waitress came to our table wanting clarification of what she wrote down.Back to couple "A", they got their order, finished their meal, left, and had their table cleared, while we were still watching for food for our table.I finally walked to the counter and expressed my concerns that we has a 2 year old and an almost 90 year old, WHO WERE HUNGRY!She said they were 5 minutes from bringing our order. I politely instructed her to bring whatever food she had , IMMEDIATELY. One of our orders was to include some French Fries. She said they were cooking them and they would be out in a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, I watched 2 orders of birgers and FRIES, get delivered to couple "B", who arrived 30 minutes after we did.The restaurant DID give us an ordered Iced Tea, free of charge.I got ready to pay and when the cashier wanted to know if I wanted to leave a tip, she heard a resounding "NO".As she ran my card, she asked if I wanted a receipt. Again I told her , "NO", along with the comment of " I WANT NOTHING TO REMIND ME OF THIS PLACE.

Headed back to Wichita and found this absolutes beautiful little Southern diner with the vibe I remember back growing up in Oklahoma.Location, Location, Location... This spot has it all for Location, parking and building pop. Now, lets get to the good part. Staff is spot on and menus which are what you'd think of for the area. Small but pack a punch with what they have. Food, its been awhile since i cleaned my plate off after a bacon cheese burger with waffle fries. Hats off the cook! The price, three folks, three meals and drinks, with tip of $5 and still under $30. Folks, please stop by and support local. The vibe is about as American as you get. I love the cigar Indian as you walk in.Owners, if you read this. Thank you for all you do daily. Amazing job.Cheers and drop a comment and follow for more spots to find.
