Love the decor! I ordered the DDD sampler. Pot stickers were too spicey to eat. The spaghetti with bbq sauce & no meat, I would definitely pass on. Red beans & rice was good. We probably would not go back. If it were closer I might give it a second try.

Let me start by saying I’m not a huge fan of Cajun cuisine or spicy food in general. However, the group was so I was okay to find parts of the menu I thought I would like. I ordered wings with honey bourbon glaze, okra, mac and chs, corn soufflé, and bbq spaghetti. We were a big party and we like to try everyone’s choices. The corn soufflé was BY FAR the best ever ANYwhere! The rest of the food did not impress. The service, the location, the parking, the outside dining area ALL great…we had 20 people and we all tried a bite here and there of different things…the consensus was the same…just not as good as we had hoped (except for the corn…wowwwww!)

We had not been here for who knows how long but I knew I could get miles for use of a certain credit card here and the rest of the family was unsure of what they wanted to eat for dinner on a Thursday night. The result of Hwy 61 as our choice is that overall it was a good dining experience but not without its issues. First, we all agreed we would never order their $15.99 BBQ Shrimp appetizer. Not good and certainly not worth it or what you'd expect. They charged $1.98 for a tiny plastic additional cup of their honey bourbon sauce to go with their smoked wings appetizer. Give me a break. Even the kid's meal was $8.99 and just "OK". They were closing up the place while we dined and finished by 8pm. Doubt we'll be back.

Great family owned place. Food is always good and their staff is always friendly. I've had April as a waitress many times and she is amazing.

Absolutely one of the best meals I have had in a while! Great food, cool atmosphere, and a top-notch server in Jameka! Had the DDD Sampler with a side of mac & cheese. So good, every bite! One son had the pulled pork supper, he wiped the plate clean. Other son had the Bourbon Street chicken, and he embarrassed us as he scraped his plate clean, Cannot wait until our next trip to St Louis!

Post Coronavirus visit and it’s just as great as it was before. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich which was so tender and flavorful and packed with so much much meat, loaded waffle fries(cheese sauce, bacon and green onion). If you are in the area and want some delicious food stop by and check it out.

Dinner on a Friday night. Seated quickly 6pm. Caroline k was our server. Very nice and helpful. Catfish fingers appetizer good, plenty to share. Seasonal smothered red cabbage was so good. Atmosphere awesome. Band started right at 7pm. Great place.

I highly recommend Kitchen 61. We’ve had a group of friends over for dinner twice this Christmas season and what great meals they made for us. The kettle-beef and all the sides were fabulous! Then several days later the pork tenderloin with raspberry sauce and sides were just as good. I will never stress again about cooking for company for special occasions. Kitchen 61 takes all the stress away and let’s me enjoy the company, besides the food is delicious. And the clean up afterwards is a snap! I highly recommend Karen Beggs, Kitchen 61.

kettle beef was Soooo delicious! perfect portion size too. I love knowing there isn't a lot of additives & preservatives in the meal.

Friends invited us to join them for Brunch. It's served family style, and we agreed what we wanted and ordered a selection. Everything was very tasty and they bring more if needed, but to go boxes are not allowed. Service was very nice and the restaurant has a very fun eclectic New Orleans vibe. Apparently they often have live music too. There is also an outside dining area.

Awesome service and even better food! The family owned business aspect makes me want to come by more often. Karen - the owner - makes you feel like family even if it's your first time visiting. 5 stars, wish I could give more.

I just started patronizing this eatery. Both meals from there have been fantastic! Easy - especially after a long day at work. Going home to a well thought out cooked meal without prep or clean up time! A home run combination for me. Today was Cajun shrimp with linguine - I don't eat shrimp in most restaurants but this was superb. Thanks Karen for another great dinner.

My son and I went to Roadhouse 61 looking for a good St Louis meal and instead ran into a New Orleans based experience that was memorable. We didn’t realize they had live music but we went on a Wednesday when they have a variety of local musicians performing short sets of blues songs (usually 3 songs each group). The neat thing was they switched the band members with regularity so different performers played with different people. Really fun to watch these blues veterans interact and play. Worth the trip just for that. It was loud but fun. The food was quite good as well. My son had the pit-roasted pork steak which he proclaimed to be the best meat he has had. It was accompanied with red beans and rice which we both thought was great. I had the smothered catfish which is deep-fried catfish bites on top of a shrimp and crawfish etouffe. The catfish was ok but the etouffe was outstanding. Finally we got a side of the bbq spaghetti which was quite tasty with a bit of a bite and the Cajasian potstickers which were interesting though I don’t think I would get them again. A festive interior and a definite must for visitors
