Had an experience with the manager, Rosa, today that reminded me that management is more than scheduling employees and truly a lost art.

I haven't eaten many times at Crushed Red, 3 time total including this experience and haven't in over a year before today. I have dietary restrictions and because of this, have gotten really good at reading menus. So today when I knew I wanted to order a salad and the Kirkwood Crushed Red location was close, I downloaded the to-go menu that was prompted on the site.

I called in and made my salad order. When I got there I was told my order was $25+, which was much higher than stated on the menu, I then saw that I was charged for some of the veggies I ordered. I asked why and was told by Rosa that it was now a charge for more than 6 veggies.

I told her that the gentlemen over the phone did not tell me that and that it was not stated on the menu. I was told it was stated everywhere. I then pulled up the menu on my phone and asked her if she could show me where it said that because I'd looked at the menu pretty thoroughly. She looked and saw that it was not there. She then said it was a policy change that happened around June/July. I then showed her that it said the pdf that dated late August.

I was offered a $5 discount that did not cover what I was charged for "additional" veggies. I ended up having to go through the line and order a new salad.

When I came to the register for the 2nd time, I mentioned to Rosa that in the service industry, if a customer can show that they did their due diligence, and the oversight mistake was fully on the part of the company, the correct thing to do is to make take full responsibility. I was ignored and dismissed with a smirk. I asked if I could speak with a manager and was told "I am the manager."

I paid for my 2nd salad, asked for her name, and left. But let me say, there is truly nothing like the feeling of being held accountable for mistakes that you did not make and then being smugly dismissed when attempting to advocate for yourself. I'm unsure if this is how she shows up every day so I won't imply that but I can say, with certainty, that this experience wasn't Rosa's brightest moment.

Tiny amount of food for the price. $17 for a very small salad and a bit of pizza bread.

My experience with your establishment mirrors that of Natalie from 4 weeks ago. If you talked with your team, nothing has changed. My husband and I both ordered a “flat something or other.” Both were extremely small and on one plate. I had to go up to the counter and ask what was given to us. The girl was extremely rude. Not nearly enough food for the price. My husband ordered a second time. The cashier automatically added a 20% tip to his bill. For what?? Pressing a few buttons? Altogether, we spent $42 for nothing. That was my first and last time and I will not recommend this place to anyone. There was one employee, a young man, who was extremely nice. The rest wear all girls/women who were not at all helpful. We were there at approximately 3:15 pm on Monday, October 21. Maybe you can figure out who the employees were and act accordingly, on not.

I went to Crush Red in Kirkwood with high expectations based on its reputation for fresh, healthy ingredients and a casual dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit did not meet these expectations.

While the menu promises a variety of creative salads, artisanal pizzas, and healthy wraps, the overall experience was disappointing. The staff, particularly the person at the cash register, was notably unhelpful and rude, which detracted significantly from the visit. There was also a lack of clear communication about the menu and service.

Despite the inviting concept and potential for a great meal, the poor service overshadowed the positives. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant address these issues and improve the customer experience.

Just came in for a to-go order. Tipped 20% ahead of time. Workers on the line were busy but friendly and helpful, to-go girl was excellent. Get my order, go to the car to check it. Realized something was missing that I paid for. Politely went back in to ask for it, and the (I’m assuming) manager on duty told me I could go retrieve said item from the line myself. I realize mistakes happen, but I was kind when I asked and I believe an apology or accountability should be taken and handled by the worker, not myself.

Outside was fabulous. Three friends met to catch up.. we really enjoyed the atmosphere Outside, it was a perfect temperature day in STL in July. 80*- 82*. Food was good. Place was clean. People were friendly, polite, helpful. It was fun to hear the Kirkwood train once in a while.

Consistently good. Booths are looking well used. We keep coming back. I miss the roasted garlic though. Wish they still had it instead of Peruvian peppers.

A manger barking at an employee making a salad that it's "way too much!" is not a good look. It's hard enough to find employees, treat them well, and an extra ounce on a salad isn't going to break the bank, but that treatment could lose a customer.

Wow love this place. The salad options were so good! The staff was so lovely ( there was a nasty customer in front of us who was so rude- they could not have been more patient)
We'll definitely be back.

I lika this place. The Chipotle BBQ Chicken was delicious with a slight sweet taste, but difficult to eat because it was so big. The Warm Artichoke Spead was excellent with garlic bread. Yumm!
