The restaurant is physically lovely. We adored the large chandeliers. We had two starters: the escargot and the carpaccio. Both were to die for and presented well. Entrees were the well-known halibut and the lamb chops. Both were well seasoned and delicious. Because it was our anniversary, we received a cool surprise, a lit sparkler (what fun!) with a small bottle of Lamarca Proosecco. We were planning to have a Dessert Trio, but the day's events of wine tasting had filled our stomachs full. I can only imagine the decadence of what we missed. Get there early, it does become a bit loud as the evening progresses. Only a small parking lot, but there is some free street parking. One final thought: this was the best dining experience that we have had as a couple in the past few years. It is truly fantastic and a destination spot for a special occasion.
Their website directed me to make a reservation through Open Table, which I did, and apparently it makes AN OUTSIDE DINING reservation instead. On the day of the actual reservation, I received a phone call that I was welcome to sit outside but there was no seating available inside. And my reservation was being cancelled. I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance because it was our 20th wedding anniversary!!!! After reading other reviews, I’m not the first person that this has happened to. Be weary when and if you make a reservation at Peppe’s Apt 2. Since they cancelled our reservation, we did not and will not be taking our business there.
I don't know how you could execute fine Italian dining any better than this.

The food is SO delicious! The waiter was great!
But they need to put down rugs or carpet or something. The noise was horrible. We couldn’t hear each other and the waiter couldn’t hear us. We will not return unless we can sit outside.

Don't miss this gem of Italian restaurants, with tastes from the Hill brought to Pepe's Apt 2. I go as often as I can, and love to start with the Trio appetizer!

Charming atmosphere. Our waiter Tony? was amazing. Service was excellent. The drinks were great. The veal chop was perfectly cooked. The canoli and tiramisu was wonderful.
Best dinner we’ve had in a long time. The “trio” appetizer was awesome, salads were great and our main courses were incredible. Will definitely come back again!
My wife and I have been to Peppe’s many times and we seem to always get the amazing halibut. On this visit we had an upstairs private room for our family of 10. Everyone really enjoyed their dinner including our two little grandkids

If you want the best Italian food in the St. Louis metro area, you can’t do better than Peppe’s Apt. 2. Peppe greets you in the lobby and is always so friendly and remembers us even if it has been a few months. Their shrimp scampi is a delicious appetizer and we always have a tough time choosing from their outstanding salads. The Ensalda de Peppe is outstanding as is their spinach salad. My go to is their Veal Saltimbocca as I feel it is the best in the area. Their Halibut is always a treat and is fresh daily. The wine list is fairly extensive and there is a nice range, whether you want a more reasonable Chianti or a Brunello di Montalcino, there are options for every occasion. Service is always top notch and we were impressed with the younger crew last night who did an excellent job making sure we were tended to without being overbearing. Leo at the bar is always a treat to talk to in the intimate bar/waiting area. The restaurant is small and romantic with a lot of life. While the prices are what one would expect from a fine dining establishment, we feel that it is well worth the money and is a great night out.
We went to restaurant with friends and had a great time. The ambiance was excellent very homey with the beautiful flower arrangement on every table. The food was great too. We had pasta linguine, spinach salad, and meatballs. We will definitely comeback again.
Table of 6 for a Saturday evening dinner. The food was very good and I had the Halibut which was outstanding. My only negative comment about the evening was that it was very loud in the dining room. Talking at our table was difficult to say the least. This seems to be the problem at many restaurants and depending on the space and acoustics of the dining room a difficult one to fix. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service but conversation was at a minimum.
10 course tasting menu was a spiritual experience. Highly recommend.
