Valentine's Day dinner 2024. Had reservations. Had to wait briefly while walk-in diners were seated before us. Not sure what was up with that. But we got a great table so maybe that's why we waited. Food was excellent as usual. Waitress was great. FYI, if you order a cocktail on ice, they charge $5 for a large ice cube, no warning. Odd. Could have taken the ice from our water glass for free. All in all, it was a pleasant experience with good food, just a couple unexpected quirks, atypical of Baxters.Older: View is great. Food is good and plentiful. Short wait for a "great table" by a wall (to be fair there was a window by my husband) at 149 pm on a Thursday before Memorial day.

We travel a lot & like to visit local restaurants wherever we go. Baxter's did not disappoint! Beautiful view! The baked potato soup was the best I've ever had in a restaurant. The key lime martini was good but the island blue martini was better. Filet & Ribeye were both great. Even their baked potatoes were above par. Great food & service!

We tried the Carbonara, Grilled Cajun Shrimp, and the Crab Cakes. All delicious! The waiter, Matt, was really charismatic and wonderful. Consider yourself lucky to dine with his service!

Good food, nothing spectacular ( burger and ribs). Terrible service. Simple question about the mixed greens salad - due to food allergies - was replied unnecessary with a snotty, rude answer " it's premixed." The waitress barely said a few words to us during the whole time we were there.There are plenty of other good restaurants around with excellent service.Dietary restrictions: Don't know because there was no answer to my question...

I had my birthday dinner at Baxters. They were very busy when we walked in. The food was wonderful. The waiter suggested I had the scallops blackened for more flavor. Great suggestion. My husband had the ribeye special and was prepared to perfection. Great service. Our waiter took our picture earlier in the meal and gave it to me when we received the bill. We had not been to Baxters in a long time. It did not disappoint‼️.
Baxters is a tried and true spot for steaks and other American fare. I enjoy going every time we're at the lake. Highly recommend. Don't miss the Friday happy hour for drinks.

We made reservations for a late lunch. There were not many people so it was quiet, which I liked. We each ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The Baxter's Red Blend wine was suggested by the waitress to have with the salmon. It was a great choice. The luncheon portions were just right. We splurged and had the New York Cheesecake and it was outstanding. It was a pleasant afternoon and as always the view outstanding.
Service was very good, they made it an effort for us to sit by the window. Wife ordered a medium rare steak and it was very rare and she could only eat half of it, that's my only issue I had.
