Crab legs were phenomenal! Biggest lobster I’ve ever had! It had to be a full pound! We couldn’t get a reservation and sat at the bar. Turns out Nikki is the best bartender at the lake! Highly recommend!

Poor experience dealing with management. nice waitress, however she needed to be trained better. Day 2 on the floor and didn’t explain the menu in full detail. The market value of a menu item was not discussed or divulged before hand. It’s proper etiquette and the responsibility of the restaurant and waitress to explain market value before ordering. I was extremely disappointed in how they handle their customer service. I am a long time lake resident with a second home here. I eat out all the time. I will never eat at JB hooks again. I will share my story with everyone to watch for market price on their menu bec they will not share till you get the bill and be shocked!!!

This was our first time at JB Hooks. Cozy atmosphere in the restaurant area and great views of the lake. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was delicious!!

We've been driving 1 hr and 30 minutes for years to eat at JB Hooks. It is so worth the drive!Tonight we were seated by the windows with a view of the lake. The dining room is gorgeous with a ceiling designed to impress. Our waiter tonight, Maxwell, was wonderful! Attentive but not intrusive, perfect service replacing utensils and plates with each course. Every order served exactly as we asked and no rush. Plenty of time between courses to enjoy wine and conversation. We started with the volcano oysters and I had a winter cocktail. The cocktail was delicious, the oysters delighted with a spicy breadcrumb topping. My husband had the house salad and I had the “Gregory.” I've tried all the salads and the house salad is our favorite- a Caesar with a twist. They serve the salads with a smoked red pepper cream cheese spread and water crackers that is amazing. This complimentary side dish keeps us returning to this place year after year! Hubby also ordered the French soup- lots of cheesy goodness with rich broth. For the entree I had the tilapia with rice and it was cooked perfectly- moist fish with a lovely sauce. I love how the fish slid off my fork when I cut it. My husband had the steak Woodrow - tender, flavorful, medium rare, side of green beans. I wish I could buy green beans that thin, they are sooo good that way! The rolls are complimentary as well, buttery and moist. Our waiter, Maxwell, boxed up our leftovers to take home and even included a little extra of my favorite cream cheese spread! I'll eat it during the Super Bowl! Dessert for me was the Tumbleweed milkshake ( a decadent after dinner drink) and husband had the warm brownie with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Delicious! We frequent Chicago restaurants regularly and JB Hooks surpasses them in food, service and ambiance! In past years JB Hooks has hosted employee dinners for our business and we even had our daughter's engagement party there with 50+ guests.

This was by far the best dinner experience I have ever had. The food was fantastic. The staff was soo personable. Jamie was our server. She went above and beyond giving us great service and taking extra care of our children. The staff and other guests in the restaurant all went out of their way to praise our children and their great behavior. 10/10 recommend we all left with a smile.

Less than expected. Steaks came out virtual raw (still cold in the middle) service was terrible, drinks left empty for extended periods of time, 10 minutes before we even saw a server to start dinner service. Texas RoadHouse would be better at half the price.

We've eaten at JB's many times, but last nights experience was very disappointing. We were celebrating my birthday and my son's birthday. From the appetizer not getting ordered to the ahi tuna appearing to be still frozen to the offering of birthday dessert, then reneging, it was not the JB Hook's experience. The wine was good!
I hate giving bad reviews but this one I had to. It took over an hour to get our food even when we had a reservation. Staff was ok, we were greated by very respectful people. Waitress was slow and did not put in our order along with everyone else's. We arrived at 705 and had our reservation for 715. Food came out to us at 820 or there abouts. We got okish steaks. My wife's was dry first time around and under cooked the second time. For 59 dollars I should have had a top notch steak. Not something I could go buy from outback for a quarter of the price. It took over 10 minutes to get water. We will not be back. Not for spending 264 dollars. I could go anywhere else and get a better meal for half the price.

We have been to JB Hooks many times and it never disappoints. The food is fresh and flavorful whether it is appetizers, steak, shrimp or desert. It's all good. The staff are attentive and the view is gorgeous. The restaurant is clean. It is pricey but yummy! We recommend making reservations as it can be busy at times, especially during the warmer months.
