Well, we took our 14 year old son fishing at the Bennet Springs State Park today. We caught 6 trout and the fishing was awesome. We were hungry before we left and thought why not try the restaurant? I ordered a ribeye with Okra and a salad, my wife ordered the BLT fries and July son ordered the Chicken Alfredo special with green beans and garlic bread. I was excited to try the State park restaurant!

My salad came first and I had the thousand island dressing. The salad was pretty good. It included a miniature sweet pickle and a thick slice of cucumber. I enjoyed the salad and looked forward to my ribeye!!!

The mains were presented and I immediately noticed a concern with my Ribeye. There was no juice under it? The outside was bone dry and th steak was only about 1/4 inch thick. I have had wonderful tasting ribeyes this thin before. I was a little concerned but I thought it cant be that bad!

So I whipped out the steak knife and began sawing a chunk of this steak off to throw down the gullet. I noticed immediately how hard this thing steak was to cut? Uh oh......

I finally chain sawed my way through and chucked that peice of steak into my mouth. I immediately noticed an un earthly texture as my jaws clamped down on the meat. Then a sensation of rotten meat hit my taste buds like a hammer striking an anvil! Holly nastiness!! Foul meat taste filled my palate......

I looked down to my plate just as I involuntarily gagged out the retched boot leather bite I just took. It landed on ky plate like a bullet ridden B29 bomber from ww2!

This was definitely the worst bite of beef I have had in years! I wanted to quickly wash that misery out of my mouth sobI stabbed two nodules of fried okra off my plate.

While thankfully tasting not rotten and sour the okra filled my mouth with raw slime. Another failure...

I dont know if you will have the same experience as this was just my experience. I hope your meal taste much better! Good luck!

Ordered to go. Had to go back for utensils. I didn't get one of the sides that was supposed to come with the meal. The steak was so tough, flavorless, full of fat and gristle I couldn't eat it.

Chicken tenders and chicken fried steak tasted like fish, unsure if the food was fried in the same oil as the fish they serve. Very off putting when you eat your food. We had to ask for the garlic toast that was supposed to go with one meal. It got forgotten, but the waitress easily fixed that.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. Got the trout dinner and turkey club. You definitely get your money worth in the sizes of food they serve.

Loved the steak dinner and also the biscuit and gravy breakfast. The steak was great and of good quality! The biscuits were made on site and not prepackaged. Yum!

Customer service was excellent but the food was lacking. Ordered a chicken bowl and the mash potatoes were runny, fried pickles were soggy, mac and cheese had no flavor, the fried chicken was dry, and the French fries had no salt. This was a take out order.

Unfortunately the food has gone down considerably the past few years. Atmosphere and service are really good. They need to work more on the food though.

Unfortunately the chicken was undercooked, twice. There were extra charges on the receipt that we didn’t order. The lodge over all is run down and dirty. The staff was pleasant but we won’t be back.

Very nice quiet place. Food was excellent. I had the salmon. Only thing I would change is if the server checked on me an extra time or two. But still very good place to eat.

It's a great place to cool down after the hot sun outdoors. It's a classic lodge with beautiful decorations. Great menu selection and lots of good desserts 🍨!! The staff are prompt and professional. They have crispy fried chicken, chicken fried steak, pizza, sandwiches, and dinner meals. Breakfast is awesome - biscuits and gravy, eggs, pancakes 🥞 all great 👍
Don't forget blackberry cobbler or peanut butter pie a large mode!!! 😉

I was on a float trip and with some friends, we decided to go for breakfast. 12 adults showed up, and they seated us quickly. The order came out all together, and the food was great.
