Just returned from our family's annual float/camping trip and wanted to share a review of how awesome this place is. If you're looking for a place with hard drinkers wearing beads after a float, this isn't the spot. But if you want a gorgeous spot to spend time with family and lots of activities (basketball, swimming pool, arcade, playground, movie night, etc) run by cool folks, this place is amazing.Rooms: Spots vary from rustic camping spots to a large cabin with AC and every option in between.

The camp ground is very clean and accessible. We love coming to wild oaks because of the staff and the fellow campers.

Update: As you can see, I not only tested positive at home, but also at the Dr's office. So, it was very much a valid illness. If you guys prefer to offer a "BoGo" or tell customers they don't have to stay home when they have Covid, that is absolutely your prerogative.... I don't want to support any company who doesn't do their part to eradicate Covid. So, I hope you enjoyed my two-night donation.Really disappointed that I have to write a negative review here, but people should be warned. I originally paid for a cabin earlier this month so we could go on a float. Our float got canceled due to storms, so we spent the time in the cabin. (Although it was rather annoying that we had to go find firewood at different places because the office wasn't open ONCE during our 2 days there) No big deal. I scheduled another stay with these guys for our rescheduled float (which was supposed to be this coming Tues). I tested positive for Covid today (I originally tested positive last week and spent 5 days in bed, sick as a dog, with a fever... I opted to restest before going back in public). I had no problem getting the float rescheduled/postponed through Majestic Floats... However, when I called Wild Oaks, the first woman told me she would have to call me back because she was in the middle of something. An hour and a half later- without even speaking to me- my credit card was charged the remaining amount for the cabin (which previously was finalized once I arrived to the campsite). When I called back, I spoke to a different woman who told me their policy is 10 days notice in order to get refunded (I wasn't even wanting a refund, just to reschedule), and she then said " I mean, you don't even have to stay home if you have covid anymore". Mind. Blown. Yes, you very much so DO need to stay home if you have covid. That mentality is why 3 years later, we're still dealing with this nightmare.Moral of the story. I was not allowed to reschedule. And realistically, I'm not sure I would have wanted to at that point... if they are okay with contagious people roaming around just to make a few bucks, that isn't a place I feel comfortable staying anymore. The woman obviously could tell I was annoyed so she unethusiastically said she would give me a BOGO coupon for my next stay... I declined. The whole thing was very poorly handled. And incredibly disappointing.

I've stayed here a few times. The place a great for groups and the food has always been good.

Group of eight. One person liked the ice water. The potatoes for breakfast were old and boiled. One of us found a hair in our pancakes. The eggs were cooked as requested for half the people. Good service though.

We always have a great time here. Campsite and cabins are clean and very well taken care of. It’s a fun place for both the young and old. I love that it’s a very family friendly atmosphere and the owners are wonderful. We always book a canoe trip too and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Niangua River.

Great place for a relaxing weekend. Locally owned and operated and everyone is super friendly. Well maintained playground and pool for the kids. Cabins are in good shape and shower houses are clean with plenty of hot water. Kids movie night at the pavilion on Friday nights and live entertainment on Saturday nights. They also have the BEST ice cream in the cafe.

An outstanding campground that is managed the way you would want your campground to be ran. The staff is wonderful to interact with; they are friendly, courteous and informative. The campground is always immaculate an well maintained. The owners take an active hands on approach to all activiites. Wild Oaks has live entertainment every Saturday night and also features an outstanding meal should you wish to eat before or during the music entertainment. Music is everywhere from country, soft rock, rock-n-roll etc. All good groups and if you can dance to all. The Cafe is great as well. Breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Food is great. Service is outstanding. I believe they also have pizza and ice cream through-out the week. You might want to verify the pizza is available through the week, it may be only on Saturday nights.... I have been to the campground many times over the last few years. My wife and I love to go there. Even if you don't camp come for the food and entertainment. You will not be sorry. Oh I almost forgot, they also have cabins to rent, for those you don't have campers. Dan & Judy

We went last year and loved this place. Had one of the cabins and took the kids rafting on the river. They loved it!
