El Plato Mexican Grill & Cantina

Chips and salsa were good, horchata was good. My son got the street tacos they smell authentic. My dish was yummy too. I will recommend to friends looking for authentic Mexican flavors. Prices seemed reasonable.

El Plato is one of my go-to places in downtown Lee's Summit. Been there many times and the experience is always the same... excellent!

They have the best chorizo cheese dip & spicy mango margarita (not spicy)! Downtown Lee's Summit, MO is the best location!

Easily the best Mexican in LS, and I would venture to say in KC. Excellent service, and every menu item hits. The chicken here, believe it or not, is the highlight. It's cooked perfectly every time and is seasoned extremely well. This place is worth the drive from anywhere in the KC metro.

Today I had a bad experience around lunch time at the restaurant, I got in the restaurant it was my first time visiting, I had a gift card off $25 and I asked to the waitress to check my balance before I ordered the meal, she got my card and never returned until I chose the meal that would cost me 15$ about, then she came back and said I only got $14.33 on my gift card, I asked her can I have a balance paper of my card because since it was my first visit it was impossible to have only 14.33. She went back inside and talk to other person and came back to me and said she would just consider the 25$ from the card. At was ok and then she asked where I got the gift card from… At the end when was time to pay she told me that I had to use the entire amount in the gift card other it could not be able to use again next time… when I asked why she wanted the person that was with me give me cash and I use the card to cover the both bills. I said no, then she went back to the back of the restaurant and came back with a different gift card and the paper with the balance on the card

They tried to deny my friend a table because they do not allow animals. When she said he is a service animal the hostess said they do not allow those either. She politely educated them that it is against the law for them to deny her access because of her service animal and could call the police and they would be fined. They then went ahead and sat her. She rely's on the dog to be her eye's since she can not see, so it was obvious this was an actual service animal. I am so disappointed in this establishment that in this day and in this town, this would happen.

Lee's Summit has a lot of Mexican places to choose from. We like coming back to El Plato which says something. I especially like the chorisquose.

Food was completely unseasoned….if your on a low sodium diet this is the way to go…ordered the chicken and steak fajitas and the steak was very tuff…service ppl was nice but I will not return.

B Plato combo is excellent especially the authentic taco and chicken tostada. Lots of variety and big portions, highly recommend.

Dare I say hidden gem in Lee's summit, or just a solid Mexican restaurant to go to. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the great staff make this an enjoyable place to eat and have a drink should you choose. Come hungry cause the serving sizes are well worth the price

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is AMAZING!

We drove 12 hours to see the chiefs beat up the ravens. Then came here to a beautiful place called el Plato in Lee's summit. Amazing food, amazing environment. Down to earth people and very good waitresses. I'll be back for sure. Thank you all.
