We were passing through Missouri and hopped off the highway for dinner, hoping for a comforting, home cooked style meal. This place delivered exactly that. The food came out quickly and tasted great.

The menu reminded us a bit of Cracker Barrel, where you pick your sides to go with the main dish. They also offer sandwiches, melts, salads, and plenty of other choices.

Overall, it was fast, satisfying, and generous for a reasonable price.

Everything was great best onion rings I've ever had. Prices are reasonable. Will be back next time I'm in town.

Macon is fortunate to have such a nice restaurant. The food and service is excellent. My wife and I drive up from Columbia often, just to enjoy their hot tenderloin sandwich and chocolate pie.

Our table ordered turkey club with onion rings, Philly cheese steak sandwich with home made chips and the tuesday special. Everything was warm not hot when it got to the table. It was still delicious. Just wish the onion rings, soup and potatoes had been hotter when they made it to the table.

Food was incorrect for both of us. Chicken was rubbery and not with the right bread tenderloin was not breaded..sides were plated on the incorrect plate. Tiffany L was not very helpful. To be honest, the whole staff seemed to be lost and unfamiliar with the service industry, including the kitchen.

There is a lack of flavor in the food and when we were walking inside a lady came out to yell at people who left without being served because it took too long for them to get a seat. The young girl serving us was very friendly but seemed to be doing every table so it took a while to get anything.

Passing through Missouri, got off the highway for dinner. Was a perfect home cooked meal which is exactly what we're looking for. Food was quick and good. Menu was similar to a Cracker Barrell with picking sides for your main meal. There were also sandwiches, melts, slald, lots to choose from. Overall it was fast, good, plenty of food for reasonable cost.

The place is dirty. Waitresses dont know what's going on. They falsely advertise about having gluten free items online. They don't have anything gluten freee and they barely know what a gluten allergy is. So disappointed. We walked out because I couldn't safely eat there. But that was after we waited on a kids menu, they never brought our drinks after taking the order

Fries burnt, burger over cooked, diner coffee (for people over 70). They say fresh beef never frozen, but it's ground beef. Gross.
Breakfast isn't all day. They don't have corned beef hash but they have a Reuben sandwich. Doesn't make any sense.

Absolutely finger licking good home cooked food!. It’s that take you back to your childhood days cooking! That Betty Crocker old school flavors!.
I don’t know who’s Momma is in that kitchen cooking all these delicious meals and pies but God bless ‘em’!.
Bottom line, don’t you dare miss out on this amazing place.
Service is fast and friendly, portion sizes are perfect, food is fresh, vibes are small town feels and dessert is Home made pie!.
10/10!!

Best onion rings I have ever had! Thick, fresh onion segments with hand-made batter! Everything else was incredible, as well. My hot beef sandwich and potatoes smothered in brown gravy (you've never tasted mashed potatoes like these at a restaurant!), the chopped steak (which they successfully cooked medium rare), the seasoned fries, the sweet cinnamony baked apples, the vegetable soup thick and hearty with roast beef chunks, perfectly made hush puppies with real kernels of corn inside, even the fresh green salad with house dressing (ranch). If you're craving a seriously tasty down-home meal, this will hit the spot! Our server was so sweet and on top of things, and the other guests were friendly and helpful. So far, The Apple Basket Cafe is my favorite restaurant in North Central Missouri!
