Absolutely finger licking good home cooked food!. It’s that take you back to your childhood days cooking! That Betty Crocker old school flavors!.
I don’t know who’s Momma is in that kitchen cooking all these delicious meals and pies but God bless ‘em’!.
Bottom line, don’t you dare miss out on this amazing place.
Service is fast and friendly, portion sizes are perfect, food is fresh, vibes are small town feels and dessert is Home made pie!.
10/10!!

Best onion rings I have ever had! Thick, fresh onion segments with hand-made batter! Everything else was incredible, as well. My hot beef sandwich and potatoes smothered in brown gravy (you've never tasted mashed potatoes like these at a restaurant!), the chopped steak (which they successfully cooked medium rare), the seasoned fries, the sweet cinnamony baked apples, the vegetable soup thick and hearty with roast beef chunks, perfectly made hush puppies with real kernels of corn inside, even the fresh green salad with house dressing (ranch). If you're craving a seriously tasty down-home meal, this will hit the spot! Our server was so sweet and on top of things, and the other guests were friendly and helpful. So far, The Apple Basket Cafe is my favorite restaurant in North Central Missouri!

I don't think being featured on a YT channel called America's Best Restaurants that gets 300 -600 views a video is classification to call your self one of America's best restaurants... Same hard mouth bleeding hard over fried dry wings, same old spoiled stinky steaks. Place looks better. You couldn't clean the underside of your holding cabinet lid for the video even? At 1:06, the lid is filthy. If it's that dirty when a show is coming and after a remodel, we know what it's probably normally like from kitchen nightmares. my guess with the spoiled steak is improper or overfill storage/not keeping temp. or not using first in first out and dating containers.

This restaurant has undergone an Owner change, major remodeling and even painted the front. The problem is, the prices of the food have went up (and down and back up some again) in the past year and the amount and quality of food have gone down. I was just in here after not being here for a few months (the last time I was here the prices were way too high $18.99 for a Wrap and Side???) because the prices have come back down some. We'll, unfortunately the quality of the food is not the same. And, I've been coming here for years. The Chicken Strips were ok. The Mashed Potatoes were a watery, instant that just dripped through your fork they were so thin. The white gravy was a think mix gravy with little flavor. I got the baked apples as a side (used to be so good and flavorful) and they tasted like they just opened a can and dumped them in something to warm them up. Another in my group got a Half Hot Turkey and it was so small. Not like the portion size you used to get. Plus her mashed potatoes were the same way, thin, watery and flavorless. We went on a Saturday close to Noon when they used to be so busy but they weren't even close to half full, which was very odd. Plus, with the new flooring and new metal/tin ceiling, there's nothing to muffle sounds and if there's a couple people talking, their voices echo over the whole front half of the restaurant. It's very loud and that was with not even half the tables being used. I am very disappointed. Me and my family used to love to come here to eat (usually every other week or once a month at the latest) but since they raised their prices the first time at the end of 2024 it just hasn't been the same. I could handle the higher prices if the food quality was still there but unfortunately it's not.

We just ate here tonight walking in about 40 minutes before close and the customer service and friendly atmosphere was a very pleasant experience. Small touches like notes of apple pie filling the room were amazing. The food was great as well.
