Food was disgusting… meat tasted like a dirty grill, missing side of champ sauce and cheese.. extremely overpriced for what the food quality is.

Opens at noon. We arrived a little after. Only a couple people in the bright open space. (Busier as the time progressed). Order t the counter with plenty of room if there is a line. Woman at the counter was upbeat and friendly, answered our questions as it was our first time in. She is great at her role, you really need someone like her as the first impression. Not every place gets that. Ordering was pretty easy and we got a QR code to place any additional orders without getting back in line. Soda and condiment station for drinks, mustard, ketchup, hot sauce, and utensils. Clean and well organized just like the overall space. Food came out pretty quick. It was also organized, a strange term to use but it fits, not sloppy. My burger was tasty, I will order the bun instead of the sourdough next time, very buttery and a little greasy for me my husband rolls his eyes at that. How could anything be too buttery? I'm strange! The fries were thin and crispy. Very good. I ordered ranch in the side. If you like ranch that is dill forward you will like this. I'm not a fan. My husband used the QR code to order cake for dessert. He found it a little hard to navigate but was able to complete the order with no issues. I enjoyed Burger Champ. Live the clean, breathe space and the food was good, too. Service was a notch above

2 DOLLARS FOR A SIDE OF RANCH???!!!(I’m not kidding folks, they really charge $2 for a small cup of ranch.)(That’s it, that’s the review.)

Extraordinarily subpar.Everything is soaked in aioli to hide how bland everything tastes. The prices are insane-- $2 for a side of ranch dressing (?!?!), $6 to add a small soda and soggy fries to your order, and $11 for a chicken sandwich that makes a McChicken look big. However, my friend's chicken sandwich was twice the size of mine so you might get lucky. The burger is edible, tasting similar to Steak N Shake's offerings (though in my opinion not as good). Even the soda tasted bad...The service was uncomfortable, nobody acted like they wanted to be there. When they messed up our order by omitting our ludicrously over priced add-ons, they were very rude when we brought it to their attention. The restaurant was almost empty, with music on full blast, paired with a dozen TVs flashing all around you. The decor can only be described as a sad, uninspired hamburger restaurant desperately trying to mask it's mediocrity with trendy interior design.Overall, it left my group disappointed, possibly outraged. The topic of how bad our experience was consumed the rest of our day, filling us with regret. What could have been a delightful evening amongst friends, with delicious food and reasonably priced ranch dressing, was instead a irredeemable bummer of an experience that was a waste of our money and our time. Thanks, Champ.

The second time I tired to go it actually worked. It is closed Sundays. St. Louis doesn't need more places with goofy hours. I got a shake, white cheddar jalapeno burger and onion rings. It was over priced. The flavors were fine. The smash burger thing is either done well or used an an excuse to used less beef. Burger Champ is the later. If you want two paper thin discs of burnt beef then this is your place. Another person said you get the good flavors without being stuffed - I'd agree. It would be a solid place for lunch if they were not charging as much as places using three times the ingredients. Service was pretty slow, but that is typical.

This place is just totally mediocre and HORRIBLY overpriced for amount of food you get. The burgers are quite small for $8-$12. 2-2 oz patties, that barely look that size, are in the style of Steak ‘n Shake or shake shack, but nearly double the price. At the price point, it’s just a terrible value. Of course cheese and anything other add ons are $1 or more. Then the sides.. they charge $6 for fries and a soda. The soda is about a 16 oz cup max that at least has free refills, and the serving of fries quite small and definitely not worth the price. Honestly the fries were better than the burger. The people there are friendly enough, but the only service related thing the staff does is bring your tray out to you. Customers order at the counter, bus their own tables, get their refills, etc. as there’s no table service, and the register you order at as soon as you walk in has the gall to give you tip suggestions of 20%, 25%, or 30%. If I need to tip a suggested 25% to supplement their wages, based off the prices they charge, then this place must not pay their employees well.Would i go back? Probably not on my own accord, only if my friends really wanted to go there. there so many other places at the same price point or cheaper in St. Louis that have way better food and value. $16+tip is more than enough to get a better burger, even at places in the same strip of buildings that Champ is in.

My wife and I really enjoyed the food. But It is pricey especially you are charge three dollars for a serving of barbecue sauce. Yes, three dollars for this little bit of barbecue sauce. A single patty burger, fries, small Caesar salad, with chicken and two drinks cost more than $40. The food is good, but not worth that much money.

Very disappointing! Not much burger and too much bun. The Champ burger is 2-2oz patties pressed wafer thin. ( 2oz patty --really??!!) The fries were not good either. $4 for those shoestring fries !!!!! I really think you can do better!!! Will not be returning

We tried Burger Champ for the first time and happy we were able to experience it. We got there a bit before main dinner service, which was great as it wasn't too busy. The staff were friendly and greeted us upon arrival. We ordered our meal and took a seat and caught up on life while we waited. Our burgers came out all at once, fresh and ready to go. I enjoyed the White Cheddar Jalapeño Burger which was quite tasty. It had a lot of flavor and was filling without sitting incredibly heavy. The sweet potato fries were a great compliment. As we were enjoying our food, the large dinner rush came in and they were so busy! Happy we got there when we did. I would recommend people give Burger Champ a shot! Nice addition to Maplewood.

Entrance was odd with the curtain, luckily we didn't wait for ever in line just for a basic burger. The girl who took our order was nice. Basic menu that was extremely pricey for no reason. Drinks are $4 and they give you these small cups so be prepared to get a bunch of refills. We got the food pretty quick the burger was alright nothing crazy the meat was burnt almost how much they over cooked it. Tasted very soggy and kept falling apart even with it being wrapped. Save your self the money and time and try Macs local eats. Also they seem to rush you out because there's limited seating. The fries were disappointing I would have rather had the ones steak and shake serves they were hard and salty. Onion rings had no flavor to them and definitely were not worth that amount!

Don't even waste your money here. Extremely overpriced for what you get BASIC FOOD! Ordered a white cheddar jalapeño burger and asked to add lettuce, tomato, RED ONION & pickle. $30 for 1 burger, onion rings and 1 soda. 1 PERSON for a burger place with no shake, outrageous for the portions and mediocre food. I was supposed to get 2 patties I got 1 pattie for my burger. Got my burger also with pickled onion with no red onion. I got 6 onion rings (1 the size of a quarter and the rest larger) for $9. The onion rings were plain literally from the frozen section at WALMART. No seasoning at all. My sis got the SHOESTRING FRIES again no flavor. The fries were also cold. The burger bun was soggy and gross. The burger fell apart but not in a good way. Very disappointed in the food I got for the price. Since I'm a social media influencer I like to give my honest reviews and leave nothing out. The owner kept listening to our conversation and so was the girls working there. They stood next to us the entire time wiping the counter over and over they had previously wiped acting like they wasn't looking at us. We were discussing the food, the prices, the experience. Again not that I care they were listening but maybe other customers would be offended perhaps?! The soda for 1 size (small cup) $4. Again this is a small burger place not a steakhouse. The amount they charge for the portions you get is absurd. The lack of flavor/ seasoning in the fries, onion rings and main thing the burger makes me wonder why they think they deserve anything higher than 3 stars. Also I was still eating my food and I had a lady (worker) come up for my side I was at the bar and try to grab my food as I was eating my food and had my food on my tray that I wasn't finished with to me that's wild, who goes to someone and tries to grab their food they are eating. There was no indication neither of us were finished eating our food. Overall I wouldn't come back. Honestly I wish I got a refund and didn't eat at this food place.

We were a party of 10 first timers to this restaurant. We didn't know what to expect....It was so cold everyone kept their jackets on, the menu is very limited but then it is a burger place. They serve smash burgers which I was looking forward to so I got the double and still had NO flavor. The onion rings were cooked so hard I just pulled the crust and ate the onions. The fries were shoestring but very good both regular and sweet potatoe. My sister and I ordered and were charged malts but received what tasted like shakes without the icecream. There was no thickness to these shake/malts one stir and we had choclate milk. We hadn't seen each other in some time so nobody complained. Oh, we had to line up to order take a number at which time the tip request came up then you had to wait for the food to be delivered to the table. It was an experience and the fellowship was great but I don't feel the need to go back.Parking: Street parking a mess. Most of our party parked on the Schnucks parking lot across the street

I had to try out Burger Champ in downtown Maplewood to see if it lives up to the hype generated when it opened late last year and I would say yes it does! The double-patty smash patty cheeseburger called the White Cheddar Jalapeño was on another level of deliciousness. I loved the onion rings too but for me my favorite thing of all was being able to order a beer from my favorite brewery Side Project Brewing that's located literally around the corner from the restaurant and their brewery is rated the 2nd highest rated brewery in the world on the ratebeer.com website. I look forward to going back and trying one of their milkshakes as well since they look very yummy. Only thing I'm not a fan of is having to order at the counter but that is a minor quip and I can live with it but it was a little disorganized there when I was ordering on a Saturday night but once my order was in it didn't take long to get at maybe 10 minutes although I definitely wasn't in any hurry and enjoyed my meal at this casual burger joint.
