Their website says that they have no phone. No way. And Door Dash shows them as temporarily closed. I'm not emailing a business to verify that they're open.

We crave pizza often in our household. Pizza Champ is our new go-to if we're looking to splurge a little. You're paying for quality ingredients and inventive pies. So far, we've only tried the 2x pepperoni, and I'd put this up any high-end pizza in the area. A regular pie fed two average sized adults 2x over. I don't think I'd ever been so excited to eat leftover pizza the next day in my life.

Good amount of toppings and overall flavor. Crust is tough and sauce overly salty. Rather order up Pointers

Disappointing. I really wanted to like this pizza and feel like I've given it a lot of chances, but alas, it is disappointing. I tried Pizza Champ's pizza (previously Elmwood) at the start of the pandemic and fell in love, and thought it rivaled some of the best pizza in the city. It used to have wonderful pillowy crust, lots of cheese, and lots of flavor in sauce and ingredients. When it transitioned to Pizza Champ I wanted to give it a chance. However, as time has gone by, it's clear it has gone down on quality and it will not improve. They switched the "Extra Cheese" for a regular cheese pizza (NOT extra as advertised) with a dollop of sauce on top (???). On the other pizzas, there is hardly any cheese or sauce. My last pizza (pepperoni) was overdone, basically burnt, and dry. Also, it's labeled as "Triple Pepperoni" but mine has clearly lost a bunch of the pepperonis, as there used to be so many more. There used to be a reason they named their pizzas with "extra" and "triple." We ordered the ranch - I would not even call it ranch as it's more of a dill sauce (extremely heavy on the dill), and does not complement the pizzas.I'm not sure what went wrong - if they tried expanding too quickly or if there was a change in management - but I think they need to go back to the roots of what they started at the beginning of the pandemic. That pizza was bomb.

I love this wood fired pizza - we had the supreme. Great crust with a nice flavor and chewy texture. The toppings were a bit unique but the kale was actually really good and smoky. The chopped salad with pistachios was good with many toppings and flavors. And the celebration cannolis were a fun ending - crumbly, for sure, but colorful and the filling was awesome. We'll definitely be back - need to try the other salad and the mushroom pizza!

Just horrible. Spent $55 on two pizzas with added extra toppings. Both boxes were very light. The idea of this being dinner and leftovers for breakfast vanished instantly. I could have done way better at imos. The crust is chewy. Sort of like Dewey's pizza. The edge was like eating a loaf of bread on its own. Not really my thing. I wanted pizza not bread. The toppings were wayyy too cheap. Almost neopolitain style. The pizza had a smokey quality which was okay but really my preference.I'm not sure how this place will remain in business.

Cool pizza shop run by Elmwood. I wouldn't call it NY style, maybe just general "hand tossed?" It's was good, the crust was very chewy! The cheese was alright, a little bland. Toppings were good. Partner enjoyed the pepperoni, I liked the smokey kale. We ordered ricotta as well but it was forgotten. 7.5/10 in terms of just the pizza. Staff was super friendly. The building is a little strange right now, not much going on and only a drive through to pick up the pizza. I'm sure it will get better.

It was a burnt and dry pizza. Even with a tip the staff didn't give me a fork, napkin, or dressing. There is no number to call to even get assistance. What a let down.

I tried this yesterday with family. The pizza is really good and I love that that they have potatoes as a pizza topping, it's the only place around that does. Their mushroom conserva was very flavorful too and overall you can taste the high quality of ingredients. The crust was very chewy and light. Since the pizzas are so big (18 inch) we ordered a customized pie with two different flavors. Here's the part which was a bit annoying: you can't get all the ingredients that are on their specialty pies on a make-your-own. That was fine for me and hubby, we just subbed some other ones. My kids wanted a pepperoni pizza on their side. The pepperoni pizza on the menu is called the double pepperoni. You can't get double of anything on a make your own so it ended up having very tasty pepperoni but a paltry amount of it. So be aware, if you order one topping there won't be much of it. They also don't really have descriptions of the dishes on their online menu. We also got lemon pepper wings. They were very heavily breaded, almost like fried chicken. The house made Ranch that came with them was to die for and I would definitely get a lot of it next time to dip pizza crusts in. Also tried the broccoli Ceaser which had very charred broccoli and was super salty, so not my favorite. Overall, the pizza and the ranch sauce were very good so I think we'll stick with those. Hopefully they work out the few kinks in their online ordering.

I can’t say enough good things about this pizza. They were extremely backed up tonight as many people know how great this pizza is. The owner gave me a call to apologize for the wait and to let me know the new time. It was undeniably worth the wait. The owner delivered the pizza himself. We felt bad he went to all the trouble, but you can tell the man cares about the quality of his product and his customers. Support this place! You won’t be sorry!!

Brand new, high-end pizza place in Maplewood. Same owners as Elmwood, which is right around the corner. They currently only have takeout via a drive-thru window. Service: right now all orders are on-line only through toasttab.com. (You access this from the Pizza Champ site.) I made a mistake with my order, and could not identify a way to change it. I stopped by Pizza Champ in advance of my pickup time, and they could not have been nicer. They adjusted my order at no cost, even though it should have been $7 more. Food: We tried 4 pizzas (Marinara, Pizza Champ Sausage, Fun Guy and Taco Pizza), and they were all excellent. There is one size, 18", and they are a bit on the more expensive side. The crust was very light and good. Quality ingredients, and all were repeats. I must admit, I was skeptical of a taco pizza, but it was very good. We would probably rank the Fun Guy (funghi or mushroom) as the best. We will definitely return soon. We will do the real test, a red sauce with mozzarella pizza, next time. Overall, we put this at the top of the pizzas in StL, and no these are not St. Louis style pizzas. Well worth the slightly extra $.
